I've had both of these for a while and decided it was time to put'em on my shelf ! The original plan was to open up the front of the big Cheetah and install a full engine and headers similar to the Mini Cheetah , but I'd like to finish these by the end of the year so they'll both be pretty much right out of the box . Here's what's in the boxes .

I bought these diecast wheels and tires about a year ago specifically to use on this Cheetah . . . . . . but as nice as they are somehow they just don't look right to me . So I'm going to fit these resin Torque Thrust wheels to the kits tires . After opening the tires with a Dremel the fronts will work okay but the rears need to be deeper so I'm using these deep Cragars (on the left) and swapping the centers . One wheel finished and pieces for the other wheel . Now it "looks' right to me !

Applied some new decals to the tires . . . . . . and the wheels are painted . Added the "Bluelines" using pinstriping tape , sprayed some Dull-Cote , and installed the wheels .

Saturday morning I began prepping the resin parts for paint . After a good cleaning and a light sanding they got two coats of primer . A few hours later I shot one coat of Hillbilly Chrome . Then last night it was two coats of Clear Red . Today (Sunday) everything was dry and the decals went on !

Gorgeous big and little Cheetahs! Great paint! Wow! Thanks Fletch , not too bad for rattle cans ! Got a little more accomplished . . . meet "Sterling Goodfellow" ! And I tackled the job of cutting out the windows . Forgot to take a photo but the windows for both Cheetahs are basically a vacuformed bubble with a nearly invisible ridge outlining the windows , one mistake and there's no fixing it . It was a struggle seeing where to cut but I managed without any slips . . . I was sweatin' bullets . And the windows installed . Forgot to show what I used to glue the windows in . . . love this stuff .
