That looks really cool ! The craft paints really worked well on this kit Thank you! I use craft paints all the time, it just needs to be clear coated to protect the finish. The clear that I used on this build is rustoleum.

I just started on this kit. Did you have bad gaps where the mouth meets the head? I'm looking at a bunch of putty in my future.

Cool build-up and paint-up! Nice job! Always fun to see these, when someone completes them! I just started on this kit. Did you have bad gaps where the mouth meets the head? I'm looking at a bunch of putty in my future. It's not something you did, to cause that. Those kits are sorta famous for it. For instance: I'm looking at some quotes in the (mega-cool!) book, called "A Weird-Ohs World: The Art of Bill Campbell" by Mark Cantrell. Quoting from page 71, where they're talking about the Silly Surfers kits (page 73 talks about similar processes being used on the Frantics kits), it says: "This time around, Hawk used a pantograph to exactly duplicate the pilot models when cutting steel for the molds. That ensured that the plastic models would look just like the prototypes, but created another complication in the process. 'They were hell to put together,' says Bill, 'because one piece wasn't keyed to the other. I built one model -- the Hot Dogger Hanging Ten -- and I had to use Crazy Glue and hold the things in the correct position, because there was no keys on them. Without that glue, it would have been nightmarish." As far as filling those gaps goes, one suggestion I might mention (these days) would be a two-part epoxy putty called "Magic Sculpt". It requires no heat to make it harden / set up (which Super Sculpey and the like requires), and you only need water to smooth it out (instead of a special chemical, like the two-part Aves brand "Apoxie" putty seems to want) and thus Magic Sculpt is pretty popular with most of the people who have tried it. As an alternative filler material: back around 2007, I was doing what they said they used, above, which was to use Super Glue, except I used it along with dyed baking soda and/or talc. I checked, and as it turns out, those (mega-long, and detailed: a part one and a part two!) articles I wrote back then, are semi-surprisingly still online, a dozen years later, over at the Internet Modeler web site. Those two articles on that type of filler material can be found over here, if anyone's interested: www.internetmodeler.com/2007/november/how-to/magic-powder1.phpwww.internetmodeler.com/2007/december/how-to/magic-powder1.php... and (to keep this as on-topic as I know how to) you'll note that I used some bits from the Silly Surfer's series to show that material being put to good use!
