Some small progress. Been busy this past weekend celebrating being an old guy Put the window posts and some woodie frame back in where I thought a DW car would have them:
Once I get some primer on it, I can start to putty it up. That white stuff is the two-part putty I used on the Racer Ray. Good for large areas, but, for me, a bit hard too handle for tight areas where you want to keep original details. I already see areas where I'll need to try to correct alignment issues, but I'll try not too stress too much. Some of the originals weren't perfect either
Still needs interior, chassis and driver (got definite plans for him)!

Thanks, guys!
Spring snow allowed a free day to do some hacking.
Working up a DW style interior:
I swear, the car looked better before I decided I didn't like the color I sprayed on it and tossed it in the pond!
Also, I was all set to cast some wheels for it and the Cabri-Ole, but....
That spring snow also meant I couldn't drive to the nearest carrier of the stuff.

Nice stuff...Your DW that never was really has me thinkin'.. Next after the builds that I have goin' now I think that I'm goin' to do a DWtnw of one of my real cars...We're in Pennsylvania and our 8"plus spring snow is givin' me some build time too. Maybe I'll have pictures later.

Scratched together some mock underside stuff:
I normally do the whole undercarriage as one unit, but since I glued these pieces to the front fender wells (poor planning), I'll be working the back end as a separate section. That way I can still continue to play with the interior sections (dash/cockpit, driver, rear interior) before final construction.
I got around to casting some DW style wheels for the Woody and the Cabri-Ole. I'll post pics when I get a chance.

So cool that we get to see all the stuff that won't be so easily seen, if at all, later. John

Got a base coat of Deep Emerald Green on the Merc:
It's sitting on a set of narrowed, black resin-cast wheels. And a donor set of boards from a Peace Van.

Time for an update
Got some painting done. First, taped off and sprayed the wood panels with some almond (with tan overspray):
Then, some casual wood grain brushwork. Emphasis on the "casual".
Finally, rework and application of the kit wood insert decals:
Still got work to do, especially on a driver!
