We've discussed Zingers before and even attempted a special Zinger category in a contest before with little success . 
Well we want to try one more time , with a ZINGERS ONLY contest !
It will be a short contest time wise and is going to happen soon , before the holiday season gets here .
Even if there's only two or three people interested it's still going to happen !
And there are a few kits in our Prize Pool that I've never shown , been waiting for a "special" reason to give them away and this is it ! 
So vote in the poll and please leave comments and ask questions .

That not interested vote is me. I'm not really into the Zingers and don't have any of them. A Zinger that never was would be cool maybe but, I have to many other builds that I'd like to do. With that said I'll be watchin' to see what happens here. Like I mentioned before...I really enjoy the WIP stuff... Cheers,Smokey

It's like anything else , some like'em and some don't . Unfortunately when it comes to Zingers I have a feeling there are more don'ts . As for me , I built all of the Zingers when they first came out (still have most of them) but not a single one since . I do have a few unbuilts stashed but have never had the urge to build them .  |

I have one of each .. been setting on my shelf .. I obviously like them or I wouldn’t have them . Thing is I end up pushing another build in front .. but yes if there were enough interest I would participate which will give me a darned good reason to build them !

Not intending to pop the balloon... but I was never that interested in zingers... Even when I was young and saw them on shelves at the store... didn't want that. I never was introduced to Deals Wheels which I like the most until around 9 years old from a member of a family giving me a kit. Then, learned more of deals wheels sets later in life. so.... knowing the knicks and knacks of the model car and is way cool.. but was never in my list of my interest.

I’m in for the long haul .. it’s like Modelcarfan said .. how much fun he had building DW Stuff and realizing the quirks and coolness ... the Zingers although small are their own breed of cool .. Having built various subject material the Zingers are a straight out-of-the-box
build.. having built them years ago they’re quick , kookie, and fun.. I’m ready to re-visit the past and put them back in my collection !!

I am all for a Zingers build off.I have built one Zinger kit over the years,and I am ready to do another one.I even thought about a "Zinger that never was" much like our talented builders that have done a Deals Wheels that never was here on the board. My own Zinger concept vehicle wouldn't be in a competition though!!!(It probably wouldn't get any votes,lol).
I always liked the concept created by the Zinger creator who put a 1:20 scale engine on a 1:32 body ( all of this was "approximate" by the way).So,I vote for a Zinger comp....If nothing else,we could have a Zinger build thread...Seems like there is less interest in members building Zingers here for a contest....Zingers just aren't on most people's choice of a "toony" type of build...Just my 2 cents U.S.D.......

What about a "Zinger style" challenge?
Just a suggestion...build a Zinger if you have one
or a model in the Zinger style (massive motor, little body, etc).
You could separate the entries (if you want) for judging or let them all compete in one class.

Well - I'm in. I have built them all already but have an extra hanging around. Right in the middle of some projects but I guess I could try. Real smoky out this way - ash covers everything - even in my closed off paint area. But - what the heck.

They have lots If cool features that are fun and inexpensive to build ! With all the donations we've had for prizes I think we owe it to the generous donors to have a Zinger Only Challenge .. Let's do this ! |

Been away on vacation but I'm back and happy to see the replies here . . . so let's do it ! I'll put something together and we can start right away ! If the contest starts on Monday (Aug 20th) then six weeks would put it at the end of September , is that too short for you guys ? Zingers go together pretty quick , even a "Never Was" wouldn't take very long so that's what I'm thinking . |
