After looking at my Toon shelf it was an easy choice , Oscar Koveleski's Auto World McLapper is definitely my favorite ! I grew up with an Auto World catalog in my hands and finally met Oscar at the Daytona 24Hr in the late 90's . Great person who is still involved in racing (at 80 plus years old !), and I spend some time with him every year at Daytona . This McLapper was my very first attempt at some custom decals and it was fun recreating all of the details , most of all the "Helmet Wing" that Oscar raced with a few times . He even talked Bruce McLaren into using it once !

I’d have to say my favorite to date is the latest build I did for the Mild2Wild contest ... this old Gerry Pitre resin garage poured 1/16th scale kit “RACE” had its issues mainly due to age effecting fitment but what a challenge for me as well as some addition paint technics I hadn’t used before. The RACE kit was inspired by the Little Jewel which was Ed's first entry into the Ed Roth custom cars scene. The 1930 Model A Tudor was Olds powered, and painted by Wally Jordan, who offered to paint it for free as long as Ed didn't watch. Gerry Pitre made his vision in this resin kit to replicate the ever famous Roth Moster t-shirt art “RACE?”

I'm going with my first completed, but 3rd started Toons/Weirdohs kind of builds.... The one I introduced myself to this fine gang with: Bomb Disposal Bryce in his 49?50? Ford Gasser. r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?url=https%3A%2F%2Fcar-toons%2Eproboards%2Ecom%2Fthread%2F1336%2F&share_tid=1336&share_fid=598544&share_type=tI had seen the Roth art, T-shirt art for years, as we all have, and drew some of my own, as we all have, but I think after seeing the T-shirt art of a "Tingler"(?) in one of the Rod & Kulture (?) [I'm 65 freakin years old.... gimme a break 😄] magazines.... after seeing his artwork, I figured maybe I would try something of my own, combining all the different influences- Zingers, Rat Fink, Weirdohs, etc. Purposely bought a 1/32 Lindberg 49 Ford shoebox for the project, and waited for it to happen..... 😒 🙄😄After 4 or 5 years of waiting, I finally just grabbed some styrene and mocked up the big tall slicks, set the shoebox on top of them..... and away I went, scratchbuilding to my heart's content 🤗 Everything is either scratchbuilt, or modified parts, eg; the tranny was an eye-dropper bottle cap, and Bryce was one of HAWK's Steel Pluckers duo. The gas tank was from a 1/32 Spitfire sprue that a friend gave me, and as mentioned, the tin is Lindberg- wheels, tires, axle, suspension, zoomies, etc, are all made from scratch, and was so much fun I am still waiting to be arrested 😄 John My favorite angle of the bloke 👍👍

This really is a toughy! I have to say, the one I'm working on always has the potential to be my favorite. But, looking back through my plastimatic zone, there are a few that stand out for me. My favorite of my Deals Wheels Never Was creations would be the Alpha Ziggy.
Something about the lines and uniqueness of the build seems so complete in terms of recalling Dave's line of caricature cars. The other is would be Racer Ray, probably for the same reasons, but as part of a different genre, since he's made up of mostly Weird-Ohs parts.
Racer Ray

After extensive experimenting and scratch building a first model car, Uncertain T, became one of my favorite. Learning type of sizes, styles and shape reflecting a cartoon style is a big challenge. I enjoy spending hours of work on that making it an unique collection since the original uncertain t kits are hard to get. I took the advantage to make a model car I can enjoy. Along with few other, GoMad was one I really enjoy the most. This one was limited only the gasser type. So I took the challenge making it a retro hot rod. Then add the surfboard spicing a beach style

i.imgur.com/1uHtKn3.jpgIt looks really basic compared to these other great builds, but this Bug Bomb was the first Deal's kit that I restored . It was such a mess I wasn't sure I could bring it back from the dead, but I was inspired by what could be accomplished by seeing other builds on the CC site . I actually now prefer to restore kits than to build new ones !

Having restored a few old models myself I have to agree with you . . . something about bringing it back from the dead that's much more satisfying than building a new one ! (BTW- your pic wasn't showing up so I added it for you)

Stay tuned!!! Aren't orphan model kits fun? Todd
