Finally , a contest just for Zingers ! Build one of the MPC Zingers or switch it up with a different body or engine , or build a completely new "Never Was" Zinger using your own body and parts .
The basic rules are the same as always : -- It must be a NEW build and a WIP thread must be started to enter . Photos of your finished Zinger can be posted in the "Finished" thread at any time . Voting will be held the first week of October and 1st-2nd-3rd place winners announced on October 6th .
Not everybody is a fan but there's no denying that Zingers are neat little models that make a big statement with their oversized engines and tires .
Give one a try and have a chance to win one of the special prizes being offered for this contest only !

I'm such a slow builder I never can finish but a Zinger or two should be no problem , so I'm in on this one ! These are my Zingers , survivors from many many years ago . I didn't take very good care of them and none are complete but rebuilding one should be easy . And I have this old Vette Zinger molded in a very unusual color . It should look great in a bright red like the Zinger ads !

I am in with this little doozy Zinger kit....Thanks for having a Zingers contest!!! Although disliked by many, the original Zingers concept was pretty cool, and this was MPC's entry(s) into the Cartoony type of models originally introduced in the 60's with the Roth Monster/Toony Cars....they HAD to keep up with the competition somehow!!!!

I'm in with.... just an idea at the moment, and worried a WIP would ruin the surprise (disgust? 😄)..... but here goes: think a Zingers 'ZONK'er 😲😲😒🤢
What can I say.... 😄

I’ve been lurking at this place long enough, probably time that I built something! Just ordered a kit to build here! I’m in!

Are the Zinger bodies close to 1/43 scale?

That's the assumed scale of the Zinger bodies and I have several of the AMT 1/43rd bodies that I'm looking at to make a swap . But in reality the '57 Chevy Zinger is the only one close to 1/43rd , the others are much smaller . I think any scale would work to build a Zinger , as long as it was 'little body'-'big engine'.

Thanks...I think that I have 1/43 Barracuda in pieces somewhere. Im thinkin' a 1/25 Hemi in the back window...gotta find it to mock it up...

Here’s my Zinger entry.. it was one of two kits called “slightly altered” .. it’s a 1965 Corvette which is somewhat of a rarity In itself .. should be a hoot to build!! Grab a Zinger and chime in fellas !! They build quick are take on character quickly !! Attachments:
