Dee gets her hat done, and I get her sled..... Ok, her snowmobile, started. Fabricating- my favorite partπ¨βπβ€ Dee's cap, covered with tea from tea bags, the brown color, and green ground foam for her pompom ball thing. Just finishing up painting her cap here, with craft acrylic paint as usual. After searching GooGooGoogly Land for pics of old rear engine snowmobiles..... tons of way cool sleds π³β€π.... I finally decided on this one, and started drawing some plans. Using .030" styrene sheet, I cut out the side pieces, and here I am gluing 1/4" angle to form gluing surfaces for the top & bottom panels so we can get this show on the snow.... Then...β€β€β€.... time to start a nice WeirdOh-ish engineβ€β€π¨βππ. Searched GooGooLand again for old motorcycle engines, and got a good idea for a gnarly twinπ More pics in my Fotki- thanks for looking- back to the bench π€ public.fotki.com/JohnFleischman/weirdoh-type-models-/daring-dee-snowmobi/page5.html

Finally getting over my infatuation with Dee, and wrenching on her sled..... π Still no hands but she don't care! That's why I love her! ππ Little mockup with her new track, jumping a couple pair of socks..... π Oh no! Are you ok Dee!? Bit of the body structure showing. Starting to fab the skis...... just Old Spice box patterns here. I glued a flat bottom on to the top curved body, all .020" sheet styrene, then here, I ran a piece of house wiring inside the styrene tube, so I could bend it cold, plus have it keep it's shape, then ran a good flow of brush on Plastic Weld on it all to strengthen that joint, and create a cool bumper in the processπ€ Yeah, I am liking the look..... π Thanks for looking, and stay Tooned. Still fabricating on Dee's sled. She has skis and a headlight now, aaaaand a very rare balsa wood V twin engine in process π While fabbing these up, I just couldn't resist adding those dagger boards. No worries, Dee's a fresh powder gal π Yes, it's Prime Time finally, and she's sporting a big light, with a battery powered tea light fake flamey for her bulb. Still need to fab up the lense and bezel. Flexi straw bits keep the snow out of her shocks π€ Oh baby! And that's just sitting still π³ Slight deviation from the plan drawing, but deviation is quite the norm with my builds π Thanks for looking as always, and stay Tooned!
