I happen to have an old partial build duplicate of my present project .. mold release applied to bottom of boat and base , I used clear resin, blue dye, white dye, and a little cotton with a whole
Lot of patience .. I wanted to simulate motion with the wakes and positioning and he front of the sponsons “up” and out of the water .. hopefully with the mold release applied I’ll be able to separate everything and insert my fresh build in place of the old ..

Thank you Harley ! This is somewhat new to men.. resin casting is one thing but clear resin casting for display is a new one for me.. glad I had a donor boat body to use for casting portion . Despite the use of commercial grade mold release I still had some issues getting the boat hill out .. there were a few “undercuts” in the parts which lets the resin wrap around the part locking it in .. so it was necessary to break the old donor hull into sections to remove simply because everything you see here has limited flexibility..

Update time … ok .. so I had a paint scheme laid out in my head .. I have a super good friend in New Hampshire who begged me to paint the hydro for me.. now we’ve done a few long distance favors for each other over the years (I’m in Illinois) so I said “why not!” .. I boxed the prepped hydro up and sent to New Hampshire .. he asked my favorite colors and this is what I got .. I am closing in on the end of this awesome one-of-a-kind project and still have a few details to add .. but all and all here’s my vision coming down to the wire ..

Jaw hits floor! That really is some next level paint work going on there, the 3D effect " bubbles" are a beautiful touch. Colour me impressed!

Real water droplets were used .. then dusted
Over and allowed to evaporate before moving to the next stage ..

Wow! Super job this build is epic. The paint really fits the build. I'm really liking the proportions of this Chuck everything just looks right.IMO
