I recently picked up a couple of resin kits . . . "Hot Rod Herman" and "Bat Fink" ! Hot Rod Herman is about 8-9 inches long and is very nicely cast . It could use a little more detailing but not much . Bat Fink is smaller , about 6 inches long and is also nicely done . I did as well ! I also found the Barris figure Hot Rod ! .. the Batfink is a little smaller than I thought it would be but Tony does a great job on his stuff !!

Wow, never seen that before...and 1/16 scale?!! wow
At first I would have said it was a "show rod" inspired by Jack Keef's StageFright, but the Pyro model (unknown designer) was first issued in 1970. And thats well before Keef's show car debuted later in the 70s.
And before any model versions of Stagefright...including the 1978 Hot Wheels version.
Now...Jack Keef did claim that it took him more than 7 years to create Stagefright, which could predate the release of this model, but I'd say its an original idea...like Daniel's designs (artwork to model and then, sometimes, to real-life)... so that makes it a Car-toon!

While box art can give the impression of a Toon it's what's inside the box that counts . Looks like the Stage Ghost could be a Tom Daniel creation much like the Tijuana Taxi or Rommel's Rod , both Show Rods . And the Laramie Stage Ghost is on the Show Rod Rally list .

Latest addition to the lair .. a minty Pyro 1/16 scale Laramie Stage Ghost .. cartoon ? Or Show Rod ? There was another member on the Coffin Corner who donated at least one of the Tom Daniel showrods to Revell/Monogram for them to reverse engineer it for a production model kit. I think it was either the Dragon Wagon or Tijuana Taxi. I THINK Round 2 has some old Pyro molds. They made the "Serpent" kit as an example. Would you consider reaching out to them Chuck If you didn't build this right away??? You would be a hero in a lot of model builders eyes. There is a thread somewhere on the C.C staring one of the owners of one of the said companies didn't need much in the way of reverse engineering this kit. Just throwing it out there. We wouldn't have seen the repops of those Tom Daniel kits without that model enthusiasts donations. Todd

Todd Not to be a downer , Todd , but I believe the guy that sent the complete mint kit for them to redo never got the kit back, so there is some risk involved. Remember , at that time a mint, unbuilt Taxi or Wagon would be in the $200.00 range. I would be really nervous about loaning a Stage Ghost , but then again , I'd sure like to see it reissued !!

With that being said I have made leaps and bounds on the build and have all in paint and clear coats except the skeletons .. also I am the guy responsible for bringing back the Mini-Men .. I own all the rights and have all the remaining inventory of the last run .. I sent several ORIGINAL Ulrich Mini-Men across the pond for reverse engineering.. never seen them again .. so I sent the remaining originals I had to have the last run made .. the reissue was a success but to this day I’ve never seen nor heard from the Chinese manufacturer or seen my 25 originals ..
