I know Don, here we go again. Guys, I love building Steam Punk or Steampunk either way works, which is sifi & fantasy in the Victorian age. They aren't necessarily
TOONS but they are different. Before I posted I wanted to find out what the Leadership thinks & please I'm OK with "Not here Please".

There are ways to make it a Toon, a funny driver, what I'm wanting to build. I got to do some more thinking about this.
Thanks Brizio.
I thought, this is a CAR-Toons forum so it needs to be a car-toon Steampunk. Answered my own question by thinking of Brizio's answer.
Mystery solved.

Steamie Stuff! Yay! Fletch also has some cool steampunk style stuff -- (which I've seen via e-mailed pics he'd sent me) -- so if you guys "go first" with work-in-progress or finished-build posts along Steampunk lines, maybe others will jump in, over time, on a semi-regular basis with that sorta thing. I'd like that, anyway. (Subject-bounce warning ON) Question for the admins, though -- am I correct in assuming the new organization of these boards is implying that "serious" (rather than "tooned") science fiction and/or fantasy builds are cool to post, in that specific new section? In other words, models of that type, in that board sub-forum, wouldn't necessarily always have to be "tooned," as long as they're of possible interest to the group? If so, then I might have one old-to-me finished scratchbuild, which I've considered sorta "borderline," and haven't posted yet.

Nooooooooooooo They have to be "Tooned" , maybe not a full blown Toon like a Deal's Wheels , but they have to be tooned in some manner . If you're not sure about the "borderline" one , or any other model , you can pm a photo and we'll take a look .

Well I'll be dipped! All this time I have been posting my scifi & fantasy model pix and no one told me they had to be tooned! Whoops! I have tons of scifi & fantasy & steampunk to still post but now I guess I gotta cease and desist. But to be fair until today the scifi & fantasy thread did not have the word "tooned" at the end of it so I do not feel too guilty! I don't consider most of Ira's models tooned - I always just thought they were cool scifi vehicles. Oh well... guess I will go have a beer.

You didn't do anything wrong Fletch , this is a really gray area and I may have been premature putting the "Toons" in the title . I'm not sure how to specify it . . . we don't want any NCC-1701 Enterprise models posted , but what you've posted and Ira's models have some toon or comic qualities to them . . . I know that Chuck can explain it much better than I can . I think I'll have a beer too . . .

Fair enough, all around. I almost never do "serious" / straight-forward "mass appeal" sci-fi models -- (that is, like the Enterprise mentioned) -- anyway, so by what was said above, it's not a problem for me.
("Has some toon or comic qualities to them" sums it up well, for me, by the way! That's a workable enough definition.)
... and by that standard, the model I was thinking of posting future pics of, would definitely fit well here. It was always a tooned model, in a sense: a spaceship from a 1960s kid's show. Nifty, toon-like proportions and details, etc.

Beings it's "fantasy" Steampunk based from an early era let's roll with it!! Let's incorporate all the posts BOTH "Work in Progress" & "Finished" under the Sci-Fi header.. The voices have spoken and we listened.. Your Steampunk category is now available for everyone's posts.. IF they have been "tooned" place them under the toon category if not post them here !!!
