I think so too . Can't believe that all of a sudden we have TWO bodies molded in Olive Green ! BTW - That olive Thunder Bug body went for about $77 (not me) , that's more than I paid for the last one I bought missing only the base and spike ! Oh darn. I was hoping that you got it. I was going to ask if you if you'd part with the like green Screamin Vette body that was with it. I was watching it but skipped bidding. I was relieved to see that it ended way beyond what I had planned to bid. Don't feel so bad about sitting it out. Brian That's pretty funny- I was going to ask him about the Mustang !

I was talking to Ed Sexton from Revell on Saturday at the NNL, and I did ask about the "first four" Tom Daniel snap kits - Thunder Bug, Dune Rat, Screamin Vette and Boss Mustang. I mentioned this board, and he said that he gets regular emails from someone here about reissuing those kits, lol. He did jot down some notes and said he'd check it out. He said he thought they probably had the molds. If the Thunder Bug has licensing issues with VW then that could be a problem. Maybe why that batch wasn't reissued fifteen years ago.

Brian I think the licensing issues may have been resolved . In the last 6 months Revell has released a new 1/24 1968 VW Beetle and a new 1/16 VW Samba Bus , along with reissuing the 1/16 VW Karman Ghia and a 1/32 Beetle .

Not to beat a dead horse here , but theres a Tom Daniel "Ford Fake out" 1/32 snap kit on Ebay right now, auction # 351815963320 . The body is cruddy olive , and the chassis is molded in white ! In all of the cars in this series I've seen over the years the chassis are always molded in silver .

How 'bout that . Body looks in great shape except for that color ! And the white chassis is definitely strange . A month or so ago I picked up another Thunder Bug body that's kind of half way between olive green and the normal light green , I'll have to post a pic so you can see it .

Huh. I'd like to see that odd-green Bug. And I did manage to snag a lime green Screamin Vette since this thread. Brian

I'm not sure about the color of this one , it's not dark enough to be olive green but it's got an unusual tint to it . I thought maybe it was light green that had discolored (maybe cigarette smoke) but it doesn't wash off , so maybe some olive green plastic got mixed with some yellow ? The other Bug is T'rantula Green , I don't have a light green one .

Wow! Chartreuse. Perfect for a Bug. That's neat.
