Kit has been parted out. the 4 parts for the figure are still here. I cut the right hand off at the wrist and flipper it around, over hand to underhand. to the end of what was once the shovel handel I added a bit of round stock. Found the parasol in parts bin, I think is from the Big Wheeler kit. Not 100% on where I want this to go. Just need some low pressure model fun. Got some new Paints to try (Artlicious acrylics). TTFN

The Artlicious paints are a bit thin, so applying them is a lot like glazing with oil paint. Lots of layers isnt a bad thing, just takes time. I was happy with the skin tone, but now I'm thinking he looks a bit pink. TTFN

This is one of those kits I have that I keep looking at and saying I'm going to build it but never do . I'll be watching , looks like it has lots of possibilities !

Lightened the skin. I am slowly working on the clothes. I chose a bright yellow for the parasol and have been muddying it up a bit. A little progress on a little project. TTFN

Your work on this cool little kit inspired me to do some looking around ... and as it turns out, I actually have an old coal bucket, very much like the one the driver sits in. (Last used around the mid-1990s, when the house I live in had that heating system removed.) I took some photos of it, just for kicks. I'll try to remember to post them somewhere (probably not in this thread) at some relatively-soonish time period. But for now, here's the words-instead-of-images version of what the "real things" look like -- Boy oh boy, were buckets for coal ever dirty! And beaten up! Any weathering a person chose to do, on this kit's bucket, could be justified, no problems! Shiny and chrome-looking my particular coal bucket certainly was not! Other than that, the only thing that kind of surprised me (when looking at a real coal bucket) was that there was a sheet-metal handle (mounted horizontally) on the back side of it, towards the bottom, for a person's second hand to go. Made sense, when I thought about it: there would be a lot of weight in the bucket, once it was full of coal. The extra hand-hold would make it easier to tip the bucket's load. Anyway, that silliness aside ... it's good to see one of the old Lindy Loony kits being built / painted! EDIT -- Here is a composite image of a real life coal bucket; as mentioned above. (Apologies if such images are unwanted, etc. -- it's just that it seems you're using oil-painting techniques, and weathering things up nicely too, so just in case ... !)
