I have been reading, I want this kit,I want that kit. I fore one, am greatly appreciative for what we get. Some of the cars mentioned are also to my liking, what are you gonna do.Not to be morbid, but I'm getting up there in years. I have no idea how long I'll be a round, what good does it do to complain. I will try to build what , I get. I have more kits, than I could possibly build. Recently losing my brother, at the age of 54, makes one think how short life really is.

I'm very sorry to heard about your brother. I'm not a kit collector, I mean I don't have 100's of kits on my stash. I'm a project collector... I have few project, that I start to build and after I lose interest. Like recently I finished a model car that I started two years ago. Some kits I give them away, like some Weirdos, that I gave to a coworker for his two daughter and cousin. They had a great time building them! Also when I go to the model show and a the raffle I won a kit, I will give the ticket to a kid, so he can chose and build something. Because if I take the kit home it will became another project... And who knows how long it will sat there. I could also sell it, but if I can make a kid happy, it make me super happy!

Thank you for your thoughts, I too have many projects not finished myself, must come with territory. I commend you on your actions to help kids get interested in the hobby and welcome back.

It is very hard to keep track of models you build. I restrict myself to two models and finish it. It takes a lot of discipline. Living a life along with hobby like this is often hard to divide. So I can relate to you for that. Hang in there. You will finish them in time.

"Quality Over Quantity" And by that I mean not so much a great skill build, but enjoying the act of building{and collecting), for yourself and the companionship of fellow board members and enthusiast.
I too lost my identical twin brother at the age of 55 to cancer. He was not an adult model builder like us, but his last week, I brought him a Red Baron kit, just like we had as kids and built it with him. It was one of his happiest moments he told me that week and actually laughed as we got parts glued to our fingers as he commented he didn't "remember it being this difficult back then". He gave the model to his son to have his young son to get into modeling.
So enjoy what you have and don't worry about your kits when your gone. leave some instructions as to how you wish they be distributed or a list of prices for your spouse or heir of the value for financial support.
And if you need anybody to talk to or how to cope, I'm here for you. Take care, Jerry
