First things first ... the beginning of "Slot Nut" .. I may eventually work on His girl friend "Hot Slot".. but that wil be another day .. Slot Nut borrowed a helmet from his uncle Digger .. so we will take it from here... wish us luck !!   |

**UPDATE** .. The helmet has been cut down a bit to replicate the one in the photo.. it's now in the purple pond getting squeaky clean then I'll do some final shaping, fitting, and filling to get it ready for primer .. stay tooned !

Slot Car Nut is moving forward ... I see a pair of goggles in his future as well .. lots of work to do to change the upper torso and "Uncle Digger's" helmet but I think it's going to work !

Dialing in the basics of the helmet .. still another skim coat of 3M green, a little more smoothing out and we'll see about a final primer .. I'm also headed out to look for a variety pack of easter eggs for upper body torso .. (Thanks Dave) .. **UPDATE** .. there was a small dip around the face opening on the helmet (seen in earlier photo when helmet was black).. it's like they wanted a visor-type look when it was cast .. well that's got to go !! I want this helmet to resemble an old Bell helmet .. next will be straps and buckles for it .. I' going egg hunting tomorrow at a couple local craft stores to size up Slotnut's upper torso ..   |

Well Slotnit finally gets his helmet and it's ready for paint. i scourged the town for a mdeium sized plastic easter egg but I guess it's the wrong time of the year .. So i settled for 2-wooden halves and I cut it down to get in proportion to his lower torso .. the little guy is going to have a beer belly ! .. but he's going to be about 1ft taller than he was when he came out of the box.. Ha!!   |
