I got this kit from someone who claimed it was modeled in the pearl white and that all the parts where is the box. However it's just white and the driver is missing, but the chrome and glass are still in bags. Here is what I'll start with. I think I want a purple Tirebird, maybe orange? I dont know what do Y'all think?

I do have a few kids of this type. I also happen to have an original version in pearl like color and it does show the pearl appearance. The new version is more white as we may get to find paints in pearl color. I believed back then didn't have. I also have maybe two of Funster and its made in black color. So all I know are these three colors, white black and pearl... hmm any other knows there's a different color?

Hey Grumpy, I'm starting to notice that your household has a thing for orange. Did Mrs Grum...opps that's not a good name for her. I meant to say did your better half start the orange fixation? HaHa. Have fun with that build and keep us posted...Cheers,Smokey

Smokey, thanks for the offer but I have a head to use. And Yes the Zzz28 is one of my favorites.
Brian, I like the pearl white the best. But then again, Black would look awesome.
Bob, Gold? hmmm.... that would be very cool.... Man just when i thought i had things whittled down more options arise. I had a hard time finding a pic of a Trans um or Tirebird in any other colors, other then White or Blue.

As a Chrysler kid and now a Mopar man, I know a 1970 Pontiac Formula 400 with a 345 block, when I see it. The 1970 400 with a 345 was the only Firebird with the Ram Air hood. And the coolest. Standard engine for the Formula 400 was a 330 hp/400 cid V8 with a Rochester Q-Jet four barrel carb. Optional was this 345 Ram Air engine that was fed cold air from open hood scoops that used rubber boots to seal to the holes in the top of the air cleaner snorkels.

Not sure and won't ask, it's her house I'm just handy enough not to get thrown out, I guess. Just wait until the Seattle Seahawks season starts again then she'll have the house is all blue, grey and action green. Most of my HEO gear is blaze orange and so are all of clothes for the my lawn care company. Thank Jonathan

I can dig it. hmmm.........1970's Pontiac orange is Carousel Red. 70's Pontiac Gold is Coronado or Granada. No Purple 70's Pontiacs. I will have to think about this more. My other Deals Wheels are all one of the ROYGBV rainbow. Red Go-Mad, Orange ___? , Yellow ZZZ28, Green Glitter bug, Blue VW Van, Violet/purple___?.... I need an Orange and a Purple. But then Bob said Gold,,,and Gold is at the end of the rainbow,,,,no purple 70's Pontiacs,,,,,, I have to say I think my first choice, purple, is just wrong, cool but wrong. But Gold would be fun and the pony car in the line I painted Yellow. And then there's Orange, would look good with the blue tinted windows and blue decals and could fill a spot in my Rainbow of Deals wheels fun. Dang it Smokey, another Orange model. How could you have called that. I didn't know untill just now. Still thinking on it but Orange paint may come home with me today. Alright Y'all let me know what you think, still time to change my mind. I'm off the mow football (soccer) pitches today, lots of stripes to make. Jonathan

Fit, fill, sand, prime, repeat. After an hour dry I'll do the repeat part.

Y'all might be wondering about the Brown primer. It's a spay-on heavy rust-proof under coat for farm equipment. It's thick and drys rock hard in minutes but stinks for days. I was hoping to fill some of the gaping holes and I think it might help with the orange paint I have; it's a bit old and if I remember it's bright. Funds here are thin so I'm digging deep in to my bag of tricks, almost more fun this way. Reusing old sand paper, "dull" blades, old paint, crazy two part plastic filler that seems to work but rips my fingers up when using and some prehistoric glue. Sure the model might be highly toxic when finished. But um.....it'll be fine?? Today I'll be thinking about how we can make this Pontiac's 400formula'ed Chickens SCREAM. Oh thats a noise, 400 screaming chickens,,,hm,,,think I'll need some ear plugs. Thanks

Nothing wrong with using old supplies that are just sitting around , we all do it ! That brown primer reminds me of Corroless paint , a thick rust preventive paint that really does work . It's more reddish in color though .
