I have come across a couple of websites specializing in pinstriping on real cars... I came up with a thought and question about whether if there is a technique in pinstriping on model car using a specific paint brush or just an artist fine paint brush from the stack...
Because I have several model cars I want to put pin striping on them and sometimes applying lines with decal is a hard task. Or even with multiple lines around the car, decals don't always stay well on them. So pinstriping a car would be a best bet, yet you have to have a way to " hold " the paint brush and draw a line along something.. I may have to create one some how.
any thoughts?

Sorry I don't have any examples to show here .. but what I've done in the past is paint the pintstripe accent color on the subject first.. then lay a 1/64" or 1/32" pin stripe tape over the top then shoot the body color.. once it tags up gently remove the tape NOT pulling it straight towards you but straight towards the front or rear of the subject removing very slowly.. then presto !! A perfect pin stripe

Sounds like a best one... I will experiment that.
Thanks Chuck

here is an example of pinstriping, the "Chuck" way. If you need to, you can see my process on car-toons.proboards.com/post/11724/threadprimed, red, skinny tape, yellow, thicker tape centered over skinny tape, copper, remove tape and ' BAM!' triple pinstripes. Omit the Yellow and go straight to copper and I would have a single pinstripe. Hope this helps.
