I remember watching the Wacky Races after school, and it was one of my favorite cartoon. MPC made few cars from the cartoons, I bought this kit online, it was already built. Luckly for me who built did not painted, nor used glue. Also because the kit snap together... It is missing a hub cap and the front nose. Two pieces that I think I can easily reproduce. Also is missing box, instructions and decals. I though the car was bigger, at least when I was looking at pictures online also where they shows the MPC box, but the car is around 5 inches. My idea is to paint it like the one in the cartoon. Here the car in the cartoon. And mine in pieces...

Cheers,Smokey For what I know they made few cars from the cartoon, I think maybe the most famous one. The interesting thing is that the kit is MPC, but on the car is printed HB00 Wacky Races. I guess HB stand for Hanna Barbera and 00 for the number of the car. Cannot help on the spell sound of the dog, but here a nice clip...

If it's about 5 inches long that's not too bad , most of the time models like these are really tiny ! It looks pretty detailed , should be fun to watch !

I have the one I made as a kid in a box still..... interested to see what you do with it. I always thought it needed the glass canopy to be complete....

One of my favorite cartoons as a kid ! I always rooted for the tank ; you never knew what car was going to win each week (except the Mean Machine) . I ended up buying the complete series on DVD for my son to watch ... and me too LOL

I for one would love to see a picture of your old build ! As it is today. In a few pieces, but it is complete. The snap fit pins on the rear engine need some glue... I was still watching this new show when I made this! Australia didn't have color TV at the time so the wrong colors were not obvious. {Australia didn't get color TV till my last year in High School, 1976. How retarded was that!}
