Hey Wardster, Did you ever finish the Hut Rod? Cheers,Smokey I'm still alive ... and am still somewhat kicking ... I'm just not getting much done on scale models. (But thanks for checking on me!) That non-finishing mode includes Huey's Hut Rod, unfortunately -- which, along with a bunch of other projects I want to get back to, is just sitting there in the same basic condition last seen here. Ugh. One day, both "free time" and "concentration" will align, and (for lack of a better way to describe things) "interruptions" won't be happening; and thus, more will get done ... but for now, (and really, for the last couple of years or maybe longer) Real Life and hobbies just aren't as compatible as I want them to be. "One day ... just not today" is the short version of my status, at present. -- Wardster --

Im glad that youre still kickin. Yep, I undetstand completely. This hobby thing has been an on-and-off deal for me for years as time and interest came together. Finding this site and the cartoon builds is really what's keeping me in the hobby right now. I really like this place and can't thank everybody that's involved with it enough. Cheers,Smokey

I like this place a lot, too -- and just wish Real Life would quit kicking me in the butt, enough to (here and in some other places / ways, too) get some hobby stuff done ... and then posted, for others to see.
What hobby time I do have, though, in periods like this, isn't being totally wasted. I'm getting some stuff done, but it's generally time spent in "less public" ways: teaching myself new tricks, etc., at least keeps my hand in the hobby, so to speak. What I'm doing is not always applicable to this very cool place, but it qualifies (to me) as "fun" and "hobby stuff" nonetheless. For instance, learning to get better with a wood lathe. Not really much call for that, around here. But some of the stuff I am learning, or getting better at with more practice, will eventually be put to uses on projects like the ones on these boards. (A bit of additional sculpting practice, for instance.) I'm not a musician, but if I were I'd say I'm just hanging back and learning some new-to-me tunes.
So yeah ... my interest in this place and this part of the overall scale modeling hobby is still alive and well. It's just not very "publicly visible," right now. (And thanks again for the concern!)
