you can all see my initial thoughts on this kit in the General board car-toons.proboards.com/post/12538/threadI have done some seem work and some shaping on the kit. I have decided to build sub sections and then paint. This does mean (because his top half bobbles) that at some point I will be putting the rubber band in his torso, like building a ship in a bottle. I am getting closer to priming just have an arm and some motor mounts to glue and fill and sand small seems. I saves the easy part for last. I am hoping to make the model look like the box top. Not sure how many of the decals I will use, they are beautiful and will be used at some point. I have been playing with ways to shade the chrome with under laying colors so some chrome will appear more blue or yellow.

Got all the parts primed and a few painted aluminum. I think the motor is large enough for some detailing; cutting out gaskets and drilling holes for plugs.

Very cold and wet here this weekend. I wanted to do some rattle can painting but I think hand painting is a safer bet for now.

I have tried hard to stick to the box art for colors. However I enjoy a large Hemi to have black valve covers and I do enjoy a wrapped exhaust. I'll be running a fuel line and plug wires. I want to run a link arm on the carbs so McGurk has quick control. Might paint the bug catcher while I watch Svengoolie this weekend; he's showing the movie "Ants". The board is primed and awaits its black and green coats of paint. It is still to moist here to get a good glossy coat on, just have to wait. Thanks for checking on McGurk, TTFN!

Hi'ya Toonters, its been too long without much progress. I finished the bug scoop and hope to get y'all better pics of it when I do the install on the big mill. Old Stroker got some coats of the knock off JohnDeere yellow. I liked the JD yellow as it is almost a satin, not too glossy. I think it will work on the ring buoy I tried the JohnDeere green on the board, it was too dark so I striped it and will try Rustoleum meadow green.

It would look cool with a Flame Job on it.

I know it is unusual for me to not be here on a daily basis. A few months back I had a lot of dental work done and I am now starting the rebuilding of my mouth; the process is long ( 3 hours with my feet above my head, drilling, chipping) often makes me feel as though I have been in a bad fight and had my head stomped on. this makes me feel like i would not do my best work on old Stroker. To pay for all the dental work I am working 2 full time jobs and still running my yard care business. I was in an accident and my truck was a wright off, but i was fine. only vehicle i could afford is a 2008 corolla. I have been loading a mower and trimmer and clipping in and out of a tan car, not good. I have been looking into a truck but with little spending/savings money I might have to buckle down and work harder. However on the bright side, I have asked Laughing Doe if she would marry me. It has taken many years and I have had start my life over more then once due to my own choices. I might have no cash, have to work all the time and have a silly smile right now;
But She said: YES!
We went to the court and did paper work and on the 16th of April of 2018, She will make me the happiest man on earth.
Thank you all for being great friends! Jon
