This is what I started with, a lot of missing pieces the gun, side pipes, and wing struts. I had already started to paint the plane and pierre when I decided to try to share them on here. I also decided to try whittling a new gun from a piece of pine. Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted The person who built it first had gloss black paint, Pierre's boots, hat, mustache, plane cockpit, and tires were all gloss black. The rest were unpainted. I did leave his boots the original.

Pierre is now the man with the wooden gun. It looks better actual size than blown up in the pictures. I went to the shed to cut off a dowel to make the drum for the gun, I thought I knew where they were (I haven't needed one in years). Not finding them I turned around to find a clothes pin and he donated his head to the project. the forearm I drilled and used a piece of sprue. My thinking that it would glue to the wing better. The next step in my process was to come up with the missing wing struts. For this I decided I needed a donor kit, and that turned out to be a Baron built up I purchased off eBay. Not only did it have struts I could work with, but it would give me the missing side pipes I needed too. Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted This is my first time building a lucky pierre, I did build a Baron when I was a kid but he is the only DW plane I have built before. I have been buying and selling these since 2003 on ebay, but I've decided rather than just "hoard" them I should build a few. Originally that's why I started buying them. So my goal is to repair four of the built planes I have. I started with the messa-schnitzel and have him complete. Now I've moved on to Lucky Pierre, and I'm doing a Baron along with him.
