And now.... some scenes from the Totally Fake gymnasium where we've been building up Gary's arms.... so he can really impress those cool chicks πππ
Starting to get the hang of this vacuforming π Here's Gary's shifting arm in the .030 formed styrene.... ....and here's his steering arm. Both "pulls" are just the first of two. I flipped them- the balsa wood masters- over... after removing them from the formed styrene, and pulled down over the other side. All 4 good pulls, two halves per arm. You might notice that I let the plastic wrap around the masters, as I wanted to try something.... The two halves of the steering arm, trimmed a bit.... ...and here I slid the one half into the other, so I have an overlapping glue joint. I flow liquid Bondene along, and into the seam, and melt the layers together. After slicing and dicing myself a few times the last couple of years, I got real familiar with this stretchy clingy tape. So I figured it would help hold Gary's arms together while it "heals"... π Cheapest stuff works great... [but I didn't tell Gary that π] Here you can see a good overlap of the join on his shifty arm. Ok, now what π€? John

Oh yeah.... Dapper Dude had some teeth and hair... That was a very traumatic time for old wooden Gary Buck. Poor guy has been sawed in half, and more, then glued back together, just so..... .... I am truly sorry man, but it's this vacuforming thing, ya know? If it means anything, that's a top of the line Zona saw, and all the blood is totally Photoshop fake... π
Alrighty then. Once I had Gary's scalp free, I poked some holes in his dense balsa head for some vinyl tubing "hair". Got the tubing in the beading section at Michael's. As the scalp and 'hair' are going into the vacuform machine, I needed a way to hold the 'hair' down, so some non-Saran cling wrap did the trick π Eh.... pretty cool pull, but I was hoping for better? And here Gary and I are enjoying some quality time fitting his totally fake rug. Removed his teeth after he bit me..... π²π π Poor Buck.... Well, that's all for now fellas. Letting paint dry and glue set up while editing and posting pictures, so, it's back to the bench so we get done in time. Thanks for following along π John

Well.... thanks to the boss man getting Gary all riled up, talking about the girls... he started giving me a hard time about calling him "greasy".... π says he's offended by that..... ππ So, I had to compromise..... So Dapper Gary it is now, but if he thinks he's gonna pick up chicks now, then he's more Weirdohs than I imagined πππ He's done.... and I did stick a fork in him, but that picture didn't come out too well. Check him out in the Finished and Entry threads. I'm still calling him Greasy Gary, whether he likes it or not π Thanks to everyone for following along and your encouraging words π John
