Just wanted to share some monster hotrod art I did along time ago for my son when he was little … obviously Ed Roth and others was a big influence on me as a kid… still love this kind of art to this day!!…I would draw all the time on the kitchen table and got in trouble in school for drawing instead of doing work!! Probally some of ya’ll did the same..LOL!!!..These are some old scans but the color is still pretty bright and clear..Anyway they were drawn freehand with pencil then colored with watercolor then outlined and detailed in ink..probally at least 10 years ago…I know they could be cleaned up better in photoshop with backgrounds and all…but there old and they are what they are!!! So maybe these might help motivate a build here on the forum..if not just have a look and enjoy!! And Thanks to Chuck for giving the ok to post these!!! Cheers!!! Yes! thats soo retro, and a lot of us kids when we were young, we drew many pics on the corner of text books and often get caught by teacher for using the schools property...sighh, I did a few, but did some on regular paper when i was young and the class was sooo boring. I spent one art work full of craziness happening on all the pics. This became the talk among many students in school.
So this artwork you just did is soo much like that! Love it ! and thanks for bring me down the memory lane.... should i say Cartoon street?

Yeah I attended kind of a rough elementary school...drawing was a good escape from some of the tougher kids who wanted to pick fights or just thought they were tough!!... once they seen you could draw monsters or hotrods or anything they left ya alone..and your right it did become the talk among students..a few became pretty good friends!! I used to charge a quarter to some of the kids for a drawing!! got some extra lunch money!!LOL!!Those were the Days!! ;D and Thanks modelcarfan for the kind words!!! |

Thanks for showing !! What ya got in mind 2-speed? I've been known to doodle from time to time.....perhaps I could could do a piece of ol' art skool line art for ya......... Understand I'm not saying a full blown airbrushed piece.........if you want color you'll need to sharpen up your crayolas and DIY. |

I've got a "surfer dude" somewhere around here in Resin .. he was done by "Tex" in Cali.... looks very similar to your drawing !

FUN stuff. . . .we all love this style. . and I agree. . . the one is a KILLER SHARK! Who is going to be the first to build one of these in 3D? ? ? ?? ?
