Very cool... looks like it took very well!!! I’m happy with the results this far .. it’s going to take about 40 hours to cast the complete kit .. nothing is 100% perfect with a garage kit but I personally do lot have an issue substituting a little 2-part epoxy in some areas when needed . Building a kit that you’ve repaired the original parts and reproduced the parts to add such a rare piece to my shelf is very , very rewarding.. I’ve not only helped a friend repair his original parts but allows me the opportunity to own something that is virtually extinct..

I can't wait to see the kit built. That's whats great about you doing a one-off for yourself - you can build it without worrying about destroying the value of a rare original!

Thanks for posting all the progress pics - really cool to see the mold making process. I always enjoy doing one major resin project a year .. it is fun and can be frustrating as well .. some parts come out slick as a whistle and others may take 2-3 attempts .. it’s always been a black magic of the sort .. 😬

Thanks for showing all your hard work. That is a lot of pieces to cast. For crying out loud - even the teeth are separate! Super cool.

Thanks for showing all your hard work. That is a lot of pieces to cast. For crying out loud - even the teeth are separate! Super cool. Yeah ... these old kits are for the experienced modeler .. sand and fit .. filling places where arms join the torso and so on .. not for the guy who has never worked with resin for sure .. 40 plus parts lots of sanding and smoothing .. not because of what I’ve done but because of all the original mold seams and such .. I didn’t want to alter the kit that was sent so I pretty much left things alone for the most part .. glad it’s done!
