Baja Humbug as Dave Deal's Spark Bug'd

I wanted to do a new build of the recent Baja Humbug kit (I already have an original on the shelf).
While trying to come up with a new look, I realized I had never seen one done up in the style of Dave Deal's actual Baja racer.
So here's my rendition of the Champeen Spark Bug'd!

Built stock, with the exception of the exhaust tip (styrene tube bits and a piece from a pen).

The body is painted up an off-white satin.

The decals are all homemade -- some redrawn from his other kits, some I made up.

The fender flames are based on the ones from Roth's pickup.

Dave held the land record for making the 1000-mile "Tijuana to La Paz" run.
But, it's still J.P. McFarkle behind the wheel.
