OK, I hope I'm not out of place here by posting this, cause not really Hobby related. but everybody likes some form of music.
While going through the pages and looking at stuff here like I do everyday, and commenting on the "Frantic" band, I again
came across Jim Bertges' "Aurora Monster Band".
When I came across the mummy drummer,
It reminded me of one of my favorite real (1 to 1) bands "Here Come the Mummies"
I don't know if any of you are familiar with them. They perform dressed as mummies.
What makes them good, is that they are all very good musicians. They're music could be considered I guess, funk rock R&b.
They are supposedly made up of musicians who play in real bands (some Grammy winners) and change personnel from time to time.
I don't like to post any YOUTUBE links on pro boards. But if you are interested in checking them out
Google "Here come the Mummies on the Bob and Tom Show" which will probably be on YOUTUBE
They do a lot of concert footage, but the times they appeared on "the Bob and Tom Show" were my favorites.
They play in a small studio, the drummer uses a small kit, so they have to do more, with less.
Now be fore warned, most if not all, of their songs even though they don't use foul language, are
sexual innuendo. So if this offends you, I don't recommend it.
Otherwise I really like their instrumental part of the music (Hey Chuck, I would have really loved to mix these guys, although I
dreaded mixing horns lol).
I have a couple of their CDs, and try to keep up with them on some of their sites ( I don't do facebook, though)
I think they still perform. Some of my favorite tunes are "Revenge of the Weiner man", "Running Hot", "Walk of Shame".
If you think it might be your thing, check em out.
