I'm opening up a thread for vehicles I don't know how to categorize ... sort of a "MISC" category. Jump in with any not easily given it's own unique thread, or that might fit here, best. The more, the merrier... To kick it off, here's a few items from my HW collection: This one's name is "RV There Yet" -- (Note that the center wheel on each side is only painted on, not a real wheel.) "Skull Shaker" vehicle, with over-sized figure (two color variations of the same basic thing) Two cars from the Simpsons TV show: Snoopy, on his dog house (before the Baron's Funfdecker shoots him down, according to Revell's old box art imagery)... And from the Scooby Doo cartoon, here's the Hot Wheels version of "The Mystery Machine".

Keeping the ball rolling, here's two color variations on the "Surf N Turf" vehicle: And the Hot Wheels version of "The Beatles Yellow Submarine":

And the (kewl!) weirdness continues, with the Hot Wheels version of the flying saucer of The Jetsons: And something that looks a bit like a rejected idea from Tom Daniels' line of cartooned construction equipment ... I am not trying to put it down. I just like Tom's designs better. But it is still pretty cool, and over-the-top.

And here's two color variations on a tooned 1968 Mustang body style: And here's two more ... these ones each being from five-pack sets. ("HW Flames" and "Toon'd Muscle".)

Here's a pair of 1969 Chevelle's ... the one that looks like it has a gray paint job on the body, is actually a see-through body, that has a slightly smoky tint to it. EDIT: Here's another variation -- this time not only on body color, but also on the style of rims they supplied.

Hey Wardster, Your Thread title is perfect. You've got some good ones here. My wife and I were noting you have a lot of good ones we still need to get. She is into this stuff as much as we are, as a matter of fact she bought most of the "Tooned" stuff I have, (I have a tendency to buy the "serious" stuff) LOL Thanks for the invite to jump on your thread. I've got a few of the same ones you show, but different colors, so I'll try and post some more. I try to avoid using the "C" word (Cute) but this one it's hard to avoid. Here's one out of the package. Jim

Thanks, man!

Again ... thanks! Weirdly, for the longest time, I didn't see myself as a "collector" of Hot Wheels or Matchbox items. I wasn't doing it with price guides, or scouring the dark corners of (as some people call it) EvilBay, or anything like that. I was just buying things, at stores, cheaply, if they looked cool. It wasn't until I put them all in one place, that I said, "I think you're in denial, about not being a collector". I'm sure other guys have me beat by fifty miles, in terms of the items they have, and that's fine. I don't need every cool Hot Wheels out there ... but if other guys show pics of them, that's always cool, too!

Heehee. Yeah, it works that way, doesn't it? Sometimes just seeing the image is enough for me. Sometimes not.
> She is into this stuff as much as we are,
Awesomeness! Nothing wrong with that!
> as a matter of fact she bought most of the > "Tooned" stuff I have, (I have a tendency > to buy the "serious" stuff) LOL
I tend to be interested in anything (not just in the diecast world, but everywhere) that has cool shapes and colors. What that "cool shapes and colors" means, though, varies. Could be seeing other guy's hardcore military paint jobs, on a vehicle that is historically accurate, and has so much (in the case of "armor" or "soft skinned" fighting vehicles) added texture to it, that there isn't a postage stamp worth of "flat" or "empty" space, anywhere! Or it might be an intentionally humorous piece, where the proportions and outlines are mostly "selling" the object. Just depends.
For a long time (a few years?) I was looking at Hot Wheels, Matchbox, and similarly sized vehicles as possible bits and pieces (a blank canvas, of a sort) to modify, for a table-top game called "Dark Future". It's an actual game: I'm not making this up, but it's basically a post-apoc game, that was (pretty clearly) styled on the first Mad Max movies. It is played with cars / bikes / whatever in the same scale as the inexpensive diecasts we know so well. The idea of taking some of the more "serious" castings, from the Hot Wheels or same-scale lines, and weaponizing them with lasers and all kinds of stuff (that the Games Workshop people supplied, in the form of a "weapons sprue") was interesting.
> Thanks for the invite to jump on your thread.
Yeah, the more the merrier. There's a ton of stuff out there that won't easily be categorized. Seeing them is cool, especially if it's a better or more clear image than what I'm supplying.
> I've got a few of the same ones you show, but > different colors, so I'll try and post some more.
Cool. Some of the ones I showed, would have been heck to scan in, laying on their non-flat sides. Always good to see multiple angles and/or other color variations, and the like.

Keep 'em coming, if you're in the mood to shoot some more photos! :-)
