As my computer is dying, Bob asked me to send the few pictures I saved to him and he will post them for me. The pictures are awful, but its all I got ! Here's a pile of parts I've been collecting for a number of years. The decals TooOld made recently and now this contest will finally get me going on it ! The belt had some odd injection marks on it so I filled them in . The roof glass was a bit glue warped and still had red paint, so that had to be covered up . Rear bumper masked off; tried Alclad spray chrome- I think it looks as close to chrome plating as you can get .

Here are some of the latest pictures ; its nearing completion ! After some cleaning off of some old glue and a few trips to an Easy Off bath, I finally got the body cleaned off for some paint. I tried to get a color that was close to the original color plastic ; Paint is Testor's Custom Lacquer Lime Ice over a gloss white base , with the first clear coat done. The headers were even more of a problem than the ones I did on my Phoney car restoration. Every header was snapped off and some had no tips. I removed all the tips and rounded the edges as most still had pieces left when they were taken of the spues and I carefully sanded the mold lines off the pipes , then did my best to mate them together ( not as easy as there were pipes pieces from two kits ) . When I got them the best I could get, I painted them black and sprayed them with chrome Alclad .

I've never used any Testors One Coat but I really like that Green , might have to try some . And the extra effort on the headers definitely paid off , they look great !

I've never used any Testors One Coat but I really like that Green , might have to try some . And the extra effort on the headers definitely paid off , they look great ! I've heard complaints from some guys about the Custom Lacquer spray paint , but I have nothing but praise for it. I've painted at least 20 kits with it and used every color they have offered . In all honesty, I've never had any issues ; no spatter or any runs in the paint which I have had on the other Testors sprays. It goes on smooth and dries fast . Using different colors as a base coat will give you slightly different shades . For the best results you should clear it , but I'm guessing everyone here would do that anyway ! Basically, if you know how to use spray paint, you'll have good results
