Okay, I know I've been somewhat negligent in my comments for a while. Ah, life....
But, I decided it was time to put something under the knife.

Here's the victim, picked up at Hobby Lobby for a decent price:

and here it is, cut to pieces:


Nothing pretty about that.
Here it is after some stitching, contouring and putty, sitting temporarily on the wheels set from my DWNW 57 vvvVette:



The kit's red windshield has given me something to plan with until I'm ready to break out the regular set.
Let's see how this goes.

Some updates:

I've carved out a resting place for a DD version intake.

That scoop comes from a crapped Vandal kit.
And did some under carriage and interior work, as well as putting together a more toonish rear tonneau.




Waiting on new black resin supplies to cast wheels (all my old stuff is, well, OLD, and the ones in the pics are from a past build, only used for mocks).
Nearing paint time, but but recent wind sheers wouldn't have made that possible anyway!

It says a lot about the original car's design that, by "just" hacking out the centre section, what's left really does look cartoonish without any more work!

You have the eye on where to slice the pie my friend .. and the contour work seem to make everything flow again although I guess that’s what contour work does ! I like this and seeing where the initial surgery was applied makes it even more fun ! Great job and I love the vision ..

I think by reducing the length of the roof by 1/4" it'd get even better proportions and more resemble a Camino. Right now it looks more like a shortened sedan that lost it's trunk lid.

The head is a resin cast of the Zz28 dude, with a Sculpy formed hoodie.
