Started another wacky project from the depths of my collection .. THUNDERPIG .. was cast by Larry Krauck in collaboration with Artist John Detrich ad Chuck Kaparich

Ahhh the forgotten Race-Toon entry , really good to see it underway !
If I remember correctly there was a bit of work needed to some of the pieces before you could get started ?

Yes .. I had originally wanted to enter it in the race toon contest until I realized there was a LOT of prep work needed .. this was the last of 30 and was the “AP” Artist Proof .. I’ll be posting more updates shortly after filling pin holes and starting the paint process in a Zombie-ish theme !

Update time.. taking in to consideration the time
And methods used to cast there were
Some imperfections to address . Short shots were re-sculpted with milliput and pin holes were filled with super glue and skim coats of 2-part 3M poly green putty .. a few base colors have been added and the primer is ready for another sanding before deciding on bumper car paint colors ..

Thanks .. the bumper car had a lot of superficial “bubbles” to
Fill and sand due to the casting process back in the day .. still
Sanding !!

More work done today on Thunderpig .. still sanding and smoothing the bumper-car .. planning a paint scheme for the bumper car!

A little more progress today on the bumper car .. I decided to go with an old favorite . Back in the day they called them “freak drops” or bubbles , or balloons or even “gum drops” . I have a lot more detail to add but thought this look like something straight out of a Stephen King movie .. ☠️.. lol

Its really looking so good!!!... and am curious about that glitter paint... where can I find this?

The bubbles on the car is a spot on! sure like the idea!

Thank you very much .. The “glitter” is metal flake I put into the 3 part automotive urethane .. all the colors on the bumper car are House of Kolor Candy paints..

Thanks Bob ! I admit it’s a little “out there” but that’s where this thing needed to go.. I just couldn’t see this being one color .

More progress . Adding the details .. undercarriage detailing, chrome ect. Molotow works well as long as you don’t have to physically touch it .. the power rod is different sizes aluminum tubing to give the appearance of the insulation painted red .. bullet holes and tattered helmet , and helmet strap were added using 8th scale seatbelt parts ..
