I think you’re right .. I’d never seen one built either .. when I first looked In the box I thought I’d be able to knock it out in a few settings .. not true ! Holy cow ! There’s a lot of tiny parts in that box ! Thanks for tagging along 🤘🏼🏁

Like everyone else, I have never seen one of these built. I've only seen the box art a few times.
Well, now we've seen one, a darn nice one.
Sorry I missed the start of this, my computer has been down a couple weeks.
But thanks again for the great WIP, watching your next build also, some fine painting so far!
Great job on this, didn't they release the bike by its self?
ps: How's the paint on your 1:1 coming? (didn't think I'd forget about that, did ya?) LOL

(1:1) it’s in Base-coat making sure it’s gassed out and rock hard before going to the next layer . And yes this 1:16 bike kit can still be found on eBay “Ariel Sport” or “Ariel” “Ariel Leader” .. hope you’re logging some miles my friend !!

Chuck, you are definitely our master of the obscure. Great rendition of this odd kit. And your alterations make it all the more special. Nice job, buddy!

That's a really nice looking build of a very rare kit. Airfix released it around the same time that they tried a couple of Hawk Weird Oh kits. Things were a bit different in the UK at the time and the subject never caught on. Ton up Tony was a mile away from the tearaway biker image people might have expected. Had he been leather jacket and jeans clad, riding a Triumph Boneville or a Cafe racer Norton sales might well have been better. Wax cotton overalls and an Aerial Arrow were never going to cut it at the Ace Cafe. I built one a while back. I still have it but it needs repairs.
