This has been on my "To Do" shelf for way too long so it's time to get it rebuilt ! He's all there except for the trunk handle which I have from a DW kit , and he's missing a rear tire . I had planned on casting another one but now I'm thinking of swapping the tires for something that will give him more of a Deal's Wheels look .   This should be an easy one . . . a good cleaning , some paint detailing , and print some new decals . Along with swapping the tires I'll probably add a driver , it looks awful empty in there ! Stay Tooned !  |

I do have one kit of that model and havent come to it for a while. It has been on my long to do list and youre not only one. Looking forward to results.  |

Looking good Bob .. I did one a few years back and may or may not have posted it here .. I ended up casting a missing “Herbie” wheel and making bumperettes painted mine an off white .. I’ll have to dig a picture out ! .. can’t wait to see your magic !

Stay Tooned ! Those wheels are rare as hen's teeth as they were only used on this kit, which apparently wasn't a big seller . Are you planning on putting the stripes and numbers back on it ? A buddy of mine was selling some repro decals a while back and may still have some left . I bought a set for my Herbie restoration a few years back. As for the driver ...are you going to make a tooned Dean Jones ? LOL |

When Revell issued this wasn't it marketed as a toy and only sold in toy stores not in any hobby shops ? That could explain why it wasn't a big seller . |

I'm excited to see this one. Thanks ! I soaked the body overnight to get it nice and clean , the only issue was getting the glass out which I expected . It's in pieces but luckily the exposed windows are okay so I can make it work . Also stripped the chrome from the wheels .  I was going to head to the hobby shop to find paint when I remembered a couple cans of Wimbledon White I've been saving for a "special" project . . . this qualifies !  Also printed some decals .  Should be a fun weekend ! |

This weekend has been a bust as far as modeling goes but I managed to spray the body this morning . The paint went on really nice , it hasn't even been cleared yet !  |

Wimbledon White is a great color for the bug ! After I restored mine I realized the bright white I used wasn't really how "Herbie " was painted .

Decals are applied and it's cleared with TS-13 . The number on the front turned out about how I expected because of the way the body is molded .   |

Really nice build, especially with the paint, I do have one aerosal spray can I bought for the special one.. Glad I bought it years ago. probably going to put next to my to do list Enjoy ! |
