Really nice build, especially with the paint, I do have one aerosal spray can I bought for the special one.. Glad I bought it years ago. probably going to put next to my to do list Enjoy ! Thanks Brian ! I don't normally stash spray paint but when it was clear the Model Master Lacquers were being discontinued by Rust-Oleum I bought several colors for future use .

So I was digging through my DW boxes looking for parts (especially headlight lenses) when I was surprised by this find ! I don't really remember much about this one , the box has been really buried and I guess I just thought it was old used parts or something . Turns out it's complete with one broken axle and a broken exhaust ! This is staying on my bench and will get some repair and a good cleaning . Stay Tooned !!

Yes I have bought several aerosal spray can knowing that many becomes discontiued. There are some colors that were never sold in jars or bottles... So I end up buying quite many spray cans.

My hunt for headlight lenses turned up two sets that unfortunately were in worse shape than what I already have , I also have a complete Bug Out with parts still on the trees so I thought I'd cast a new set but my Clear Casting Resin is old and unusable . So plan C . . . I used an old Xacto blade and started scraping all of the damaged plastic from the inside on the lenses . I continued until all of the "white" yuck was removed , then I filed the mounting surfaces nice and smooth . Lastly I brushed some acrylic clear on the inside of the lenses . . . . . . a couple of coats and TA-DAAA ! Nice clean lenses ! Not perfect but pretty close . I didn't take a "before" photo but you can look at my first post and see the difference . Instead of robbing a rear hood handle from another kit or casting one it was just as easy to make one from rod and tubing . While I was at it I made some door handles , a front handle , and rear view mirror . A little chrome paint and they'll look good on Herbie . These are the tires I'm using , they're beautiful rubber cast DW style that I got several years ago from a friend of a friend . Of course they need white lettering so I printed some decals . After they were applied on the tires I brushed on some Future to seal them , I'll spray them with some Dull-Cote to knock down that shine a bit .
