Freddy Flameout

After watching the latest Top Gun flick, I figured it was time to get this Weird Oh off the ground.
Here's Freddy Flameout!



Mostly box stock, with some changes and an add on.
I needed to replace the kit's lollipop looking balloons with some more "ovoid" shaped cupcake deco and reworked the supports.
Gave a less stiff feeling.

I also added an epoxy resin tongue... flapping in the breeze.

Freddy likes to fly high, but not too high, so I shortened the jet's mounting rod.

The kit didn't have decals.  I recreated a few, and created a some new ones as well.

From the looks of his helmet and visor, he's had a couple of bird strikes.

Matching tongues - now that's a neat touch! And the rest of it is really nicely done too!

Sure is ! All of the decals plus the cracked visor and balloons are really cool too , nice one Jim !

Well old Freddie may be a deck shaking, window rattling . Tower buzzing low flyer but he sure does depict the part of a high flyer .. the balloons are a great touch and his tongue waving at old glory .. “tower to
maverick , tower to maverick , you call the ball , permission to buzz the tower ! “

Great Freddy! The newly shaped balloons make a huge difference over the stock ones. The other add-ons are cool too.

Freddy has never looked better.

This is the next series I am going to attack immediately after I finish the Frantics.

Better buy TWO tubes of Tamiya putty.
