I always loved how they snuck the "Moan" and "Detroit Foot Locker" engraving into these kits.

What a beauty Every time I see a kit it's just a bit more than I want to spend. So I live vicariously through others until I find one somewhat reasonable.
Looking great!

I thought I’d save a Buck or two and started buying a few builders over the years .. man what a mistake THAT was .. most were glue too bomb welded together for my liking and short patience .. I sold them off and stashed the money to buy a sealed kit .. ***TIP OF THE DAY*** .. when you do land a nice kit hopefully it will be sealed . Most builders open the kits with the intent of building and start removing parts off the spru by twisting and turning.. .. the bad news is IF they tried this technique to remove the megaphone tips they’ve ruined them .. almost every part had to be removed by a Dremel to keep from braking the brittle plastic .. just a little FYI

Man that Cobalt Blue is gorgeous , it's got some really nice flake in it ! Those stripes really worked great too ! I was looking at an old Phony Car I have thinking about stripping and rebuilding it but like you said the plastic is so brittle I'm scared to try taking it apart .

For years I had parts with the same idea .. everything I touched either cracked or had glue melt . I decided to just bite the bullet and get a sealed kit .. glad I did !

I was looking at an old Phony Car I have thinking about stripping and rebuilding it but like you said the plastic is so brittle I'm scared to try taking it apart . The Ferd I worked on in the past, as you may have recalled... it was so brittle and I must admit I was afraid to work on removing the window out of body because it was badly glued to it. I had held it for quite a while... and then thought, what the heck. I went ahead and tried it... to my surprise, I am able to slide the paper in between the windshield and the body enough to just cover whole window and painted the body with it. Am glad it worked. So I am not sure how or what parts on the Ferd you have that maybe you can go around it. IF you can add pics in and I can give you some tips?

Added the clear coat today .. probably wait until Monday and let the urethane clear gas out and harden .. This shade of blue reminds me of the discontinue testors paint... True blue pearl. This one has always been my favorite color choice. Yet is sometimes hard to find one... Now that you menitoned the House of Kolors cobalt blue.. hmm that goes on my list Love the shade of blue.. adding white stripes pulls them out and stands out. Looking forward to completion.
