After about six months of not building models I really need to get back into it so I dug this one out hoping to get motivated again . Originally started back in 2018 for the "Mild 2 Wild" Contest I gave up on it for reasons I can't even remember . There doesn't appear to be any damage but it's missing a few parts or maybe they were never there . . . who knows . The first step was to get it up on all fours again . It looks pretty good so I need to start scrounging for some parts and decide what to do about a driver . My plan is to get started next week some time and hopefully wrap it up in a few weeks . Until then here's a link to the original 2018 WIP thread : car-toons.proboards.com/thread/1362/dwnw-deuce-roadster

Good to see it back on bench to work and complete the last half... I have mine sitting too long and need to get back to it. Hopefully when things cools down in my journey, get motivated and then do more on that. Sigh.

I'm sure you'll get back to work on yours when you can .

Oh, definitely time to finish it up! The initial scratch-ups in your work are superb. This falls in as a DWNW-SB...."Deals Wheels Never Was - Shoulda Been" Carry on, brother!

Yeah , I can't believe it's been seven years since I shelved this one . At least it's on my bench where I can stare at it every day . . . gonna get started real soon !

Sat down last night and actually did some work on this , starting by mocking up the interior . . . I carved a seat back out of some foam , and added a Banjo steering wheel . Found the steering wheel in my parts box , pretty sure it came from the same diecast the rear wheels came from . For the driver I used this old mold I made many years ago , it's pretty crude and I didn't have any resin so I used body filler . He needs lots of clean-up but I plan on some modifications any way so it should work just fine . I need to work on his body next and get his arms figured out . It's not much but at least it's a start !

I've spent all week working on the driver starting by modifying the Glitter Bug head using some Apoxie Sculpt . That was the easy part , his body was a real pain . I actually made three of these , the first was just for practice and looked really bad . The second was looking pretty good but seemed too small sitting in the open roadster , I was making it similar to the DW drivers which have a big head on a small body and it just looked wrong to me . So I made a third larger one and this is what I ended up with . I had to cut the arms apart a couple of times to reposition them and get the hands in the right place . I'm pretty sure this is why I quit working on this six years ago . I may make a couple of small changes and he needs some cleanup before any paint but I'm glad it's finally done .

I've got my driver cleaned up and ready for some paint . Also added a skull shift knob , some hood louvers , and taillights . Still need to do a little engine work and then maybe start painting this week . It looks like my plan of finishing this month isn't going to happen but at least I'm making some progress .
