Jimmy Flinstone kit here, but I want to go on record about it. When it was first introduced the kit was 100.00. As much as I wanted one I was NOT paying that. It's been a couple of years and sales must have been off because he was selling them on eBay under his account at 49.99, so I bought one. Finally I had the kit!
I'll say this. I have had quite a few JF resin bodies and kits over the years and by and large they have been good quality. These must have been just slapped together with little or no care taken because these, while clearly not unbuildable, were atrocious. Flash is not a thing I consider bad. It's part of model building. But the molds must have been a mess because there is sloppiness everywhere. Now, had I paid 100.00 for what was in the boxes I got, I would have returned em without question. The 49.99 made it much easier to take and I think they knew that. Either that or this is the way the kit always came, in which case I can see why sales were not good. Overall,if I graded the kit it would be a 6.5 out of 10. Some of it is just fine, some is awful. But it's the only place to get this without paying God knows what for the old Aurora kit. And that is what this is no doubt. These are direct copies of that kit. I still need to do some paint clean up here and there and I need to make purple and pink polka dot decals for the buggy. Other than those things it is done. Am I happy to have them? Yes! Could they have been better? You know the answer to that.
