Just a couple of WIP shots of something I'm working on. It's coming together rather nicely.... I scratch built the chassis from sheet styrene, trying to keep it very Deal's Wheels-ish The one that came with the Z28/Tirebird was a bit too deep and hung below the body line.

A hood scoop and some primer: The scoop is a cut and filed down piece of a corvette ramcharger. The lengths we go to And the windshield is actually the back window from the Shelby convertible top, but it'll fit perfectly. I think I'm gonna have to get into casting DW parts. I'm running low on wheels, etc. ;D

I started with the Monogram 427, which is pretty much the same as the Revell Streetburner version, except with that one you get the scooped hood and tonneau instead of the smooth hood and convertible roof (of course the decals are different). I've got one of those (AC Moore with a half off coupon), and I'll probably do a box stock of that one. I believe the AMT King Cobra uses a lot of the same tooling, and uses the hard shell roof. As to the slicing, I took a full inch and a quarter out of the middle. The Zzzz28 interior fit right into the space I hogged out for the cockpit. Lucky me

.. wheels? you're low on wheels? hmmmm... Sadly, yes... When I'm mocking up, I steal them from other builds, but at some point you have to decide which kit from the someday pile will never... sniff... know... why the other kits make fun of them... sniff....

I have been buying old DW glue Bombs & the ZZZZ-28's on Ebay for Tires & Wheels. I have been getting some pretty good Deals there...
