X-15 STINGRAY!The X-15 Stingray is a Fantasy Space Hot Rod. It is designed for Racing or High Speed Transportation. The The Interior, Bubble Top and Roof are from Monograms Cherry Bomb. The Main Engines are from the Revell F-14 Tomcat. The Main Body Section come from the AMT Romulan Warbird...  Time to Cut Up some Plastic...

[glow=red,2,300]JETS!!![/glow] I test fit the Underside of the F-14 Tomcat to the inside of the Romulan Body...  After a little trimming on the inside of the Romulan Body the Hornet Body/Engines fit perfectly.  More Coming... |

[glow=red,2,300]ENGINES-TOP SIDE![/glow] I only need part of the rear section from the top side of the Tomcat so I cut the front off and then removed the Rear Wings.  I fit the top half of the Romulan Body to the top half of the Tomcat Body/Engines and Marked the area where they met.  I cut the area out along the lines. This is just a rough cut, I will be fitting and cutting later, for the Best Fit!  More Coming... |

[glow=red,2,300]WE HAVE ENGINES![/glow] Here is the top half of the Engines taped in place, havent done much gluing yet...  Here are the Top and Bottom Body Halves in place. I kept Trimming and Fitting untill the Upper Body and the Lower Body/Engines appeared to be one piece.  Rear View!  More Coming... |

[glow=red,2,300]CHOPPED TOP![/glow] I cut the Cherry Bomb Top off with a Cut Off Wheel in a Dremel Tool.  Then I traced the Tops Shape on the Top Half of the body and cut it out.  Here is the Top glued in place...  Side View...  More Coming... |

[glow=red,2,300]GOT THE NOSE![/glow] I cut the top half of the Tomcats Nose off with a razor saw...  I fit the Nose in place and sanded down the area to make the body pieces blend together.  Here is the top view with the Nose in place!  More Coming... |

[glow=red,2,300] FASTBACK!!![/glow] I cut the Trailer from the Cherry Bomb Kit up to make an extension on the Stingrays Roof. The Front/Bottom section will be used on the Roof.  I taped the Trailer Section in place and the Roof and Trailer Section Fit Together Perfectly! I made a few marks where I can trim the Section down a little...  Here's the mock-up for the Fastback! [glow=red,2,300] MAKE IT SMOOTH!!![/glow] I used 4 Plastic Strips of to blend the Top Pieces with the body. Zap-A-Gap, Green Label Glue holds the Strips in place.  Here are the Strips in place. I cut away the excess from the rear after the Strips were glued in...  More Coming... |

[glow=red,2,300]MORE POWER!!![/glow] Two Big Jet Engines just aren't enough Power for the Stingray. I'm going to add Two More Engines, Clone Wars - Sublight Style Engines on the ends of the Wings. I started with two F-18A Hornet Jet Fighter parts, I think they are Gastanks or Bombs...  I want the New Engines to line up with the body, so I marked a cut line that looked pretty close to what I wanted.  Here is the wing after the cut...  More Coming... |
