I'm being optimistic because as slow as I am I may not make it by New Years , but I'm gonna try ! I broke the seal on this one this morning and started looking it over . The plan is to convert it into a BAN - ONE Trans Am from Smokey and The Bandit , complete with a Screamin' Chickin' on the hood ! I've had this Revell body and parts forever , and now I'm going to use it . It actually looks like a pretty easy conversion . . . I guess I'll find out !

Surprise !! I actually started working on this one tonight . Basically a lot of cutting and fitting of scrap plastic and the front is shaping up pretty good . Tomorrow the tail end gets some work done !

Thanks Ira ! Moving right along now . . . I got the rear of the body roughed in this morning . Also changed the rear window to the later style , it looks a little big so I might do some more work on it later .

Today I started with a coat of primer and then I mixed up a little polyester putty . Then lots and lots of sanding ! Another coat of primer shows it needs a lot more work ! This time I used some lacquer based spot putty . I never use this stuff on real cars but it works great on models when applied in thin coats . It's ready to sand in minutes . It takes just a few minutes to sand the body again and spray some more primer . There's still a couple spots that need some work , then I can cut the T-Tops out . I want to do them last to maintain some strength during all of the rough handling !

Been busy for awhile but I finally got back to this . First up , I decided that with the open top it needed more of a real interior so I cut down the Firebird interior to fit . And here it is with some paint . Not a lot of detail here but enough to be presentable . That long piece on the front is for mounting the scoop . . . now that I see it I don't know why it isn't just glued inside the body . For the steerable front wheels I came up with a really simple arrangement using a couple of pieces of rectangular tubing and a couple of straight pins . The wheels will just glue to the ends . And finally , my favorite part of these builds . . . the wheels and tires ! They are the same ones I used on my McLapper with some resin "Snowflakes" I found on ebay . With just a little sanding they fit right into the wheels . A little gold paint , my own decals for the lettering , and a coat of Future finishes them off ! Now on to painting the body . . . I might get it done this year !!

Hey guys , I'm Baaack ! Been away for awhile so I need to get caught up on what's been happening around these parts . It looks like the Bandit One won't be finished this year after all . I did get some paint on it before I left but there are still a few details to do before spraying it with some clear . Then final assembly and I still need to make some clear windows for it . I don't think the green windshield in the kit looks right on the Bandit , and the rear window is too small ! Anyways . . . here's how she looks right now . Not very shiny , but I it will be when I'm finished !
