Thanks very much guys ! It's been under a dust cover for a few days but I'm planning on getting back to it soon . I was going to spray the clear today but believe it or not I've been busy doing yard work . . . mowed , edged , and trimming some bushes back . Not trying to rub it in but it's sunny and 83 o right now ! We're gonna catch the tail end of that front and it will be in the 40 - 50's the next few days .

83 degrees!?! i just spent 14hrs plowin snow(in michigan)...cha-ching Sorry to hear that my friend . I've lived here ( Tampa ) almost my entire life and have never even shoveled snow ! Remember , it also gets unbearably hot here in the summer , so it kind of evens things out . I just checked the forecast and it says " high 70's " tomorrow and then cold ( mid 30's ) for Tuesday morning , that's a big change ! Not looking forward to that at all as most houses down here aren't insulated for that kind of weather and don't heat very well . Oh well , that's about how our winters are here . . . cold maybe 3 or 4 times a season and that's all ! Stay safe and keep warm . BOB .

Okay . . . here's what happened . Way back in January I sprayed the clear on the finished paint and it almost immediately clouded up ! I used the same clear I always use , sprayed the same way , on a nice 78 degree day , and the humidity was a low ( for Florida ) 40% or so . Perfect conditions so I wasn't concerned at all . Well , being a black car it looked worse than anything I've ever seen so I pushed it into a corner and gave up ! Now that it has definitely had time to gas out and still looks like crap I'm going to spend a few hours and see if it can be buffed out ( sanded if necessary ) and look decent . If it won't it'll mean a bath and a repaint , which means it may not get finished this year !! I'm not too thrilled about redoing the gold pinstripes and I don't have another set of decals . Here's what it looks like . Wish me luck !

You know, its not the end of the world tho... even tho its in disrepair. There is always a way out... and believe me, I was there.. I literally had to remove all the paint after my hours of time effort invested in the body of the car and did not come out what I wanted. I had to remove decals and had to recreate them and print them again on decal paper...
hmm.. reprint them on decal paper, maybe thats an option for you .. get a decal paper from hobby store and look up for some decals you may find on the internet and print them.. gamble them up and see what it comes out. First try them on paper before printing them out on decal paper.
you did an excellent creative work on this body and looks really wonderful. I like the concept very much. Hopefully you can succeed in resolving this challenge.
Keep us posted.

Thanks for the encouragement , I appreciate it . I've had worse happen before , and I've stripped and repainted before too ! I spent half my life doing paint and body work and learned early on that things go wrong and you're gonna have to fix things and sometimes repaint a car ! When this one messed up I just didn't want to spend the time on it , I was more interested in other projects so I didn't even bother . Now those projects are about wrapped up and I have time to fix this one . The good news is that it looks to be fixable , a little buffing and polishing seems to be working ! I'll post some photos in the morning !
