It's been a while since I've posted any of my work, so I thought I'd put a few of my older builds on display. I did these conversions over the course of a couple of years. I know that you guys are mostly interested in cars, but I know that like me, you've probably built a bit of everything in your modelling careers. These pieces show Monster Crazed kids doing what Monster Kids do. You may even recognize yourselves in more than one of these.
First up, The Model Builder
Converted from a Hawk Frantics Bongo Player, this is my idea of a model building kid in his room in the mid 60s.
Next is The Make Up Artist
This guy was converted from a Weirdohs Francis the Foul and was inspired by the story of a young fellow who created a Werewolf make up using fur from his dog. In real life he did not trim the fur directly from the dog (a Collie) it was gathered from the dog's brush and shedding.
Next is The Birth of a Monster Kid
Converted from a Heller Bart Simpson, this shows the exact moment when a young kid begins a life long love affair with Monsters and all things fantastic. If you look closely into his eyes you can see the tell tale signs of Monster Mania!
Last, but not least (and definitely not last in this line of creations, I have plans for others) we have The Movie Makers.
These came from several guitar plucking and dancing Hawk Frantics and show what kids in the late sixties and early seventies did with some free time, imagination and an 8mm movie camera.
