I've been in contact with Tom Daniel by email in the last couple of weeks and the good news is that there will be some TD kits going in the mail for us to give away in our contest ! Tom has been very gracious about helping out but was a bit concerned because he couldn't come up with any of his snap kits , but he has plenty of his show rod kits . I assured him that his show rod kits would be great and that we're all fans and would get a big kick out of receiving them from him ! He is still going to try to find some snap kits and I should have something here by the end of this month . I'll post photos when I receive them ! Tom also asked if we would do him a favor . He's been involved in talks with Revell/Monogram for the last year about re-issuing his snap kits . With the success of the Deal's Wheels re-issues they are taking a serious look at the TD kits . What we can do is contact Revell/Monogram at the email address or phone number below and tell them that we want these kits re-issued ! Be sure to tell them which kits you would really like to see . Personally I'm going to push for the "Dune Rat " and the "Thunderbug" , and my favorites the "Li'l Red Baron" and "Li'l T'rantula" ! Choose whichever kits you like best , but be sure to TELL THEM ! They know that we exist as a forum , and now they need to hear from us ! Revell/Monogram cservice@revell.com 1-800-833-3570

Thats some great news ! Those snap kits are some of my favorites. The only one that will likely be a problem will be the Thunder Bug . I remember tha main hold up on the Bugaboo reissue was licensing with Volkswagen. I'm not positive, but that also may be the reason why the Bug Bomb was never released. That being said, I will still ask for it to be brought back ; its one of my grails !

I got out my copy of the Schiffer / Tom Graham book about "Monogram" (model kit company) and began looking through it, to find photos of the kits we're discussing here. And I was kind of surprised to see that many of the kits have no pics. Is there some way to see a list of the kits that are "maybe's" for a reissue? (Assuming the company has certain ones in mind, as possibles?) Is the whole list of Tom Daniel snap kits, as shown in that book, in the category of "maybe, if there's enough interest"? Once we (well, some of us!) get past the need-a-list issue, are there maybe some pics of each kit somewhere on the I'net? I'm thinking that direct links, loaded into this thread, would be a good thing. Off the top of my head, I'm thinking that any 'tooned version of T'Rantula sounds great (I can't recall ever seeing a picture of that, in my travels?) ... as does a 'tooned Red Baron kit. (Which I presume is the kit shown in the cool avatar image for board moderator, "too old".) The Monogram book showed some construction equipment that looked pretty cool, too. The racy looking skip shovel, in particular, looked like it had lots of personality. And they also showed four kits of almost-funny cars, in the snap kits by Tom Daniels. EDIT -- I should probably explain that by "almost-funny cars," what I was referring to was the Boss Mustang; Street Cleaner Camaro; Super Taxi Nova, etc. ... since (to me anyway) the bodies on those almost look like 1970s funny car bodies.

Hi Bob, It's probably not appropriate for an Outlaw Biker to say "OMG",( you'd never hear Chuck say that) so I'll just say "Wow". What a heck of a thing, to have TD himself donate something out of his personal stash. Thanks for all the hard work You guys are putting in to this.
I will be Emailing Revell also. If an old friend of mine Jim Keeler (was instrumental in bringing Roth to Revell) was still there he would sure do his best to get these re released. But, I believe the people who are there now, do care about what we want also. If we just ask....nicely....and it is feasible for them to do. Heck, it would probably be profitable, just from the "Ratfinks" on this board alone...haha.
Your Friend Jim

I can add by saying it was very righteous of Tom to dip into his person stash for this great event !!

Just for what it's worth, I took you guys up on that whole idea of politely e-mailing Revell, to express support and interest. I got a reply back. I replied to that one. And got another reply. So, yeah, they're very interested in this whole idea ... and paying close attention to our suggestions, etc. So if you other "guys/gals/outlaw mutant bikers from heck/or whatever" haven't already e-mailed Revell to express your interest in seeing re-pops of particular kits (and thank 'em for doing this!) ... now's the time!
