A couple of months ago I posted this photo to show what I was going to work with for the contest . Well the Zzzzz28 became my Pace Car , so I'm picking the Roarin' Rail to do next ! I have three of these and have never built a single one , so I cut some parts loose from the trees and started fiddling around with them . Two hours later I still had no ideas . . . then I remembered I have this ! I picked this up specifically to build a customized version to go with the complete one I have displayed next to my Li'l Red Baron . It's missing a few pieces but the main parts are there . I also have this old glue bomb that I could cut up and bash with the Roarin' Rail to build something . More decisions to make . . .

Eye ballin' & makin' decisions is half the fun.......that's probably why it takes me so long to build a model....been known to just sit and stare at them, stack up a few parts and stare some more. Oh well, beats the heck out of staring at the tube.

Sorry to disappoint everybody but I picked the easy one . I have a couple of other projects going and another kit bash now would take too much time . Here's the Li'l T'rantula disassembled , it's pretty simple . And I'll use a few parts from the old T'rantula . The first thing to do is fill those seams ! Before I started I removed this bottom section with a razor saw . Now I can insert the interior after the body is painted . It also provides a secure mounting point for the body to the base . After filling and sanding and primer it's ready for paint !

That's a sweet one. Looks better there, than even the already-nice "as molded" color. What primer and basecoat color did you use? Definitely want to see that cool little kit get a re-release!

Thanks Ward ! I use Duplicolor Automotive primers . The white is especially nice , it sprays very fine and goes on super smooth . The color is Model Master Sublime Green lacquer .

Put a few decals on it and then cleared it again , it's not really darker I'm just working with less light tonight . Added a firewall with some foil on it and a tinted windshield , and I've managed to spray some of the other pieces with Alcad Chrome ! Stay Tooned !
