Ira. .. I know it is too late. . . but I might have left about 1/2 inch of the bed exposed to keep it as a pick-up and reminiscent of the original kit? But I know it will turn out really cool! ANY way you build it!
It iwll be a fun build to watch!

Yea - two-wheeled car/monster Segway! Love it Ira! If this little two-wheeled VW toy can stay upright when you roll it across the floor and a Segway works with an electric motor then I can totally believe this cool project would actually work!

Monster Wells!I cut the bottom off of a Vitamin Bottle to make Big Wheel Wells for the Monster Tires. Then I cut the Bottom in half. Here is a rough fit on a Monster Tire. More Coming...

Floor Pan!I traced the Body shape on to sheet plastic. I traced on the inside so the Pan will fit on the inside. After a little Cutting & Fitting I got a pretty good Fit. More Coming...

Pan Tabs!I cut 2 strips of plastic and glued them about 1/16" above the front Body Line. I added 2 more in the back. The 4 Tabs will hold the Floor Pan level. More Coming...

Well Fitting!I cut down the Wells to fit the Dodger Body. After a little cutting & fitting the first Well fits pretty good. Next I glued it in place with Zap-A-Gap. More Coming...

Flat Wells!The middles of the Wheel Wells curve in instead of being Flat. So I carved out the middle sections. Then I traced the middles on to sheet plastic and cut the shapes out. Here are both Wells glued in place. The new middle pieces are glued in and the Wells are now Nice & Flat. Top View. More Coming...

Removing Details!Removed the DODGE Lettering from the front eairlier. I am also removing the Rain Gutters. Applied some Putty and Sanded a little. Cut out the Wing Windows. Removed the Big DODGE Lettering from the Tailgate. Did some more Sanding. Now I can see the Low Spots. More Coming...

I think this is a cool build.... and wondered what would happen if the driver had to stop at the sudden... he may have a big faceplant there or should I say big crashy windshield plant. lol

I'm sure the gyros will keep it form face planting this is coming out very nice...grabbing some popcorn and a front row seat
