Ira. .. I know it is too late. . . but I might have left about 1/2 inch of the bed exposed to keep it as a pick-up and reminiscent of the original kit? But I know it will turn out really cool! ANY way you build it! It iwll be a fun build to watch! Thanks Barten!I thought of that but it changed the shape I was going for. Maybe next time we will leave a little bed...

Ira, love this build, very imaginative....just wondering if you have the tread patterns going in opposite directions for a reason....or just for mock up?

Axle Supports!I started by cutting paper Templates for the Axle Supports. Then I transferred the shape to sheet plastic and made 2 Axle Supports. I Test Fit the Tires and measured the height for an Axle. Next I drilled the Axle Holes. I measured the positions for the Axle Supports and then glued them in with Zap-A-Gap. Next I cut a length of plastic tubing, for the Axle, and glued it in place. More Coming...

GYRO Box! Next I cut 2 pieces of sheet plastic to fit over the front & back of the Axle Supports. Then I glued them in place as shown. I cut a small piece of plastic to fit the bottom and glued it in. Then I sanded the sides smooth with Sanding Boards & Sandpaper. This is where the Batteries and Gyro Scope are located. More Coming...

I think this is a cool build.... and wondered what would happen if the driver had to stop at the sudden... he may have a big faceplant there or should I say big crashy windshield plant. lol Thanks! The Gyro will hold it upright...
