WOW!!! did you sculpt the steer skull? so cool looking Yes I did, I use Super Sculpey Extra Firm modeling clay for the basic shape, bake it to harden and then go after it with an X-acto knife, small files etc. Add more clay to finish shaping, bake again, filler if needed, touch up & paint. Might sound like a lot of effort but it really isn't. I find that doing them this way saves me a lot of time rather than doing a master and then resin casting because if I don't like the way it's coming out I just re-shape it before hardening. If I set the clay aside for awhile (before baking) it stays workable and I can go back to it weeks later. The only draw back to doing one offs this way is that small details tend to be a bit fragile and easily broken off. A couple coats of clear or CA helps prevent this to some degree. It's inexpensive and I can make the part any size I want to fit what I'm working on. Best part is, squishing & beating clay into submission is quite therapeutic. thanks for the info on the sculpey clay...i'm going to pick some up on my next trip to hobby lobby...just to try my hand at it myself..the skull and handlebars look great

Love it ! Where'd you get the rope ? It looks like very small bungee cord . The "rope" is 'sposed to be vintage fabric covered ignition wires for large scale cars, I got it from a friend, he may still be selling it on ebay, don't know. I'm using it for the rope on this model.

I cut some card stock for the lower part of the saddle, attached some canvas with spray adhesive and cut out the pieces. Sprayed a couple coats of primer and while it was tacky, I smoothed out the surface a bit with my fingers.....hopefully when I get the beading (edge piping)tan paint, bling and trim on it it'll look like leather.

I'm going to have to let the paint dry at least overnight and then a couple more coats to smooth it out a bit more, but I'm getting there.
