The logo for this Attachment Deletedyear's Florida Bug Jam is called Bug Wars and has some really cool VW's morphed into a tie fighter and x-wing. These would be a great model project.

I thought those were so cool I just started my own VW Tie fighter yesterday. Should look great with my VW Imperial Walker.

I downloaded that t-shirt image, and played around with the size, lighting, and contrast. (To turn it into a wallpaper image for my PC.) Here's a few things I noticed after doing that, which I couldn't see right away:
The big gun area on the half-completed Death Star is in the shape of a circled "VW" emblem. Funny!
There's a driver, with helmet, in the X-wing. Arm looks to be (almost) out the open side window, in "driving casual" mode.
I can't quite read the X-wing's license plate, but it definitely says something specific. (And it's probably humorous.)
There's one of those folding cloth, accordion-style roofs on the X-wing! That's too awesome! Great touch!
Kudos to the original artist, for having a good sense of humor and for being a fan of both "bugs" and Star Wars!

Hi Wardster! The License plate reads DaFrce (the Force). You can go over to the Floridabugjam.com site for a clearer view. The artist did a great job! On the bus you can barely see on the roof the word BAY-DER as it is a bay window (Vader). The ragtop on the bug is a great touch.
The artist is Lemorris Harris.
Just went to his website - filled with tooned cars: lemorris.com

Got way too many irons in the fire, already, so I'm not promising that I'll get one of those done up anytime soon -- but the idea did at least force me to go through my stash of cool partial kits. Found multiple TIE wings in there! Including one "model" by Estes (of model rocket fame) of Darth Vader's TIE Experimental. The big deal (no pun intended!) there being: it's in a much smaller scale, overall, than the old MPC (?) kit of the same subject. So at a guess, those wings and bits are probably a better size-wise match for a Deal's Wheels VW Van kit. Which I may (?) also have one spare body of, elsewhere in my stash of kits. Tempting! I'm way too busy to pursue it now ... but I may put all of the needed parts in one place, for sometime later on, when time's not against me as badly.
Thanks again, Mister Fletch, for posting that inspirational artwork! (And the info about the artist, too!)
