My copy of that model just came in ... and it's very well done!
First impression: it's huge, compared to what I had thought it was going to be! Not at all in scale with "normal" egg planes, which are literally the size of an egg. This is much more in keeping with the other tooned models we're used to.
Other initial impressions: they helpfully included a sheet full of stickers, for younger builder's efforts ... and also a sheet of waterslide decals for us older types. And although they certainly didn't have to, they also put in a "bubble gum sticker" sized sticker, just for extra points in presentation or something!
This kit is definitely worth adding to the stash ... and I'm sure it will be a hoot to work on and finish, as well!

And it seems to go together quite well, too. I slapped most of this new kit's parts together, tonight. Just had to build something, for general anti-real-life / stress relief purposes, and this cute kit volunteered by showing up at just the right time.

Sounds like a neat little kit . . . any chance of a few pics so we can see whats there ? Yup! I took some of the box itself before I'd taken the shrink-wrap off; and I took some of the stuff inside, too; and plan to post those pics soonish -- (hopefully, later today sometime or on the weekend?) -- in a kit review thread and/or even a build thread. Meanwhile, though, folks here can get a vague idea of what the kit looks like, from these images: www.milto.net/egg-planes/colonial-viper-mk1.phpThis photo link above is NOT photos of the actual kit, but it's very close to what Moebius ended up doing, in kit form. What's seen there is someone's scratch-built "original series" Viper. What Moebius just released was a kit showing a slightly "newer" Viper, from the newer (2003, I think it was?) incarnation of the Battlestar Galactica series on TV. The proportions (and distortions) are pretty similar, even though the photos above are of a unique scratch-built model, so they'll do fine until I get some "actual photos" up. There are also a bunch of other cool space-show scratch-builts up on that site, which might serve some folks as inspiration: www.milto.net/eggstreme-machines/space.php
