Okay gang , let's get this thing started !
I want to keep things as simple as possible so don't over think anything , and if you have any questions this is the place to ask .
There are two categories :
1 - "Car-Toons"
2 - "Zingers"
This time we're going to concentrate on automotive related Toons only . No planes , boats , spaceship , or anything else not auto related (trucks and vans are okay) . Also no Weird-Ohs or Monsters .
Eligible models are :
Deal's Wheels , Funsters , Tom Daniel Snap-Tite & Snappers , Polar Lights Snap-Draggins and "Stone Woods & Cook" and "Ohio George" Snap-It kits , the Moebius "Von Franco" kits , and MPC Zingers & Super Zingers .
You can build one "Box Stock" with only paint and detailing added , or you can customize , modify , and kitbash to your hearts content . A "Never-Was" type of build is okay too !
All entries must be of a new build (or a restoration of an old Toon) and a Work-In-Progress thread must be started showing the unassembled kit (or unrestored Toon) to be eligible .
And you can enter as many Toons as you want !
Voting by registered board members will determine the 1st , 2nd , and 3rd place winners in each category .
A "Best Box Stock" winner will be chosen from all of the entries by the Judges .
That's it , so get those creative wheels turning and build some fantastic Toons !

Yep , I've already got a couple of ideas . . . I know we've got a few weeks to plan but if anybody gets impatient and wants to start a little early I think it will be okay !  |

Nothing left in my meager stash that fits the bill for this contest.... SOOOOOOO i just spent a relaxing half hour perusing E bay and picked up a Revell Deal'swheels Glitter Bug. should be here next monday.... it's going to be a glitter bug for this contest.

I may have to enter this contest - have several Zingers and some Deal's Wheels kits in the stash. Will give me some incentive to build one!

To be eligible your build should start with one of those kits but you can kitbash or modify it however you want . If you can make a DW '57 Chevy look like a '55 Chevy or even build a DW '70 Chevelle , that's a "Never Was" and is okay . You can take a TD Snapper or a Snap-Draggin and modify a different body to fit on the kit . If you want to build a Paddy Wagon that looks like a Snapper that's okay . ZINGERS : I think we all can agree that a Zinger is an accurate small scale body with oversized but accurate wheels and engines . No wild distorted bodies and tires like the snap kits have . Again you can start with a Zinger kit and swap bodies , engines , or tires with parts from another kit or your stash . Or you can build your own Zinger out of a '58 Thunderbird kit as long as it follows the Zinger guidelines . If in doubt about your idea , please ask . |

Bob, would a Polar Lights "Snap-it" kit, bashed with this body qualify???

Yep . If you start your build with the Polar Lights Snap-It you can modify the kit body or swap another body onto it . |
