Drew up the first of a few parts in Solidworks this morning. This is the front rim. Only the basic supercharged engine, the wheels, tires, and the front axle will be 3d printed. The rest will be scratch built using a Trans Um Tire-bird for the body/base kit.

Redid the front wheel so it represents an American 5 spoke spindle mount. Going to redo the axle so that it's not so thin next.

Front axle is done. Now will have separate spindles so I can pose the front wheels. I have an idea for it with a background which needs the pose able wheels to work. Maybe I can get the spindles done in the next day or 2 so I can get the parts to Shapeways to be printed ASAP.

Nice looking parts . What's the turnaround time after you send your files to Shapeways ?

Turn around varies depending on workload and what style print you want. The ultra and extreme use an sla printer which is resin affixed with a laser instead of extruded plastic. Those tend to take longer to receive back than the latter. I haven't ordered much from them but what I have ordered of my own designs has taken roughly 2 weeks to receive. Paul Nice looking parts . Started on the scratchbuilt chassis while at work. Kinda Logghe ish. Was going to draw up an engine but I think I'm going to use one out of an old Revell funnycar and draw a new scoop for printing...... yeah..... that's it.... lol
